    Hi,
This year, the Tour Auto was a special 250 GTO but 'only' 3 of them were gathered under the spectacular dome of the Grand Palais. It was nevertheless a good day and some good pictures came out of it.

Shall you wish so, you can find all the pics here : http://arthomobiles.fr/TDFOptic%2012/tourautod1.htm

    cheers

What spectacular pictures! I love all the old vintage Ferraris especially the top view where one see's several lovely 275 of all sorts (even I think a 275 GTB/C). Wonderful pictures which made my great sunday even more pleasurable! Thank you!

Seeing three of them together must be a fine experience. All are nice. Which one would you chose? I think I might go for the blue one assuming they are all the first series and almost all pretty similar with only minor differences. Grey one is nice too. Not sure about the red for a GTO. For a 250 TR yes, but for a GTO not sure. Amazing pictures...!

First of all, you shall note that they are consecutive. The grey one, 4153GT, is the 24th GTO. 4219GT, the blue one is the 25th and 4293GT, the red one, is the 26th.

The grey one won the Tour Auto in 1964 and the red one finished the 24hours of Le Mans 1963 at the second place. Great achievements for both.

On strict aesthetics, I guess I would chose the silver one, the blue is too dark to show the beautiful shapes of the car and the red one is more common.

    Hi Nicolas,

Great pictures as ever! But how did you get up there? There was a guard a the bottom of the stairs and I wasn't allowed to go up. Like you show it would have made for exellent views.

    Best, Peter

p.s. at the place where the GTOs were displayed they also showed a video with period racing footage (most in colour) of GTOs and so on. Unfortunately there was no one manning the Ferrari stand when I was there so I couldn't ask if there might be a DVD available of this footage. Do you perhaps know?

Hi Peter, the press pass was the way to get up. I went by the BMW lounge up the right stair and there was no guard in the middle of the afternoon anyway.

Sorry but I don't know about the footage.

After looking at both cars again I think I agree with you. The silver one is clearer and shows the lines better. Thank you for the great pictures.
