0778 is the second of three Dino V6 front-engined Ferraris built.
(the other two were chassis #0776 and #0784).
    Chassis type 544.
    2.5-Liter-engine type 169/246, internal #3.
    Gearbox type 532 D, internal #1.
See also "Cavallino" magazine, issue #145 of February/March 2005.

I remember Terry (owner in the '90s) at Cavallino pointing out how he had the pedal assembly / frame crossmember and footbox area modified and moved forward for his rather lanky frame to fit within. Normally it is difficult at best to fit in one of these! (especially in comparison to 250TR 0768TR that I was familiar with)

I don't have my pictures readily available for comparison from Cavallino that year (35mm film) -- but it looks like the footbox modification remains today. Can anyone confirm?

When I worked on the car for Terry, the footboxes and pedal assembly were heavily modified. The engine was bored to 2.7 liter with custom crank and titanium rods with modified exhaust to clear foot box. He didn't care too much about originality as long as he could beat the next guy in vintage racing. I believe the car weighed around 1600 lbs without driver. Cool car!

Terry Jones told me that he regularly beat 3 liter TR's with 0776. But of course he never mentioned boring it out!
