Hi there, Kidston in Geneva seems to be one of the best players in the business. Would anyone know whether they own their stock or whether they only broker the cars on their website?
I really have no idea. Kidston and Company do very well with their current business model, their reputation is second to none.
The sort of cars they sell would mean tying up many millions in capital. At this end of the market few intermediaries would spend their own money buying a car they market. Sellers pay for access to their list of potential buyers! No personal experience but everyone speaks highly of Simon Kidson.
See latest issue of Octane Magazine (actually might be a month old by now) with the Lancia Stratos on the cover. There is an article on how to buy a 250 GTO in which the world of brokers and ultra high ticket car salesmen is explored, with a few interviews with main players, including Kidston.
simon is a personal friend of mine, and i bought the f40 through him. i cannot say enough good things about the man, his staff, his contacts, and his behavior in and out of business dealings. class act 100%.
Arrogant, entitled, to say the least. I made so much money off those who refused to do business with him.
I would assume discretion is a highly sought after quality in these circles. And it can be found sorely lacking as well. Perry
