Car is 7711. I have been working with the owner confirming the originality of the car. It is a legit transition car between short and long nose versions.

7711 ??? What an early s/n for an interim car !! Thank you very much.

Sorry, but how does the owner to prove the long nose is original on his car ?? Several short noses were also converted as long nose. Thanks.

7707 was apparently the first of these cars? Yes, a number of short nose 275 GTBs with accident damage had a long nose front clip attached at the factory, and dealer fitted no doubt.

So are you saying these two cars (7707 and 7717) were converted to long nose after an accident damage ?

So, which was the first real interim 275 GTB born with long nose ?? 7887 ?? Thanks !

No, I'm not saying that these cars had accident damage. 7707 is said to have been the first interim/transitional Long Nose. They are referred to as prototypes but it's a bit of a stretch to call them that imo with the only prototype part of the car being the front clip. I haven't seen a picture of 7707 so I don't know if it retained any Short Nose features like 7711 has.

OK. Thank you very much. These interim cars are fascinating !

The very first interim shown in picture was the 1965 Paris Show car.

Some sources say it was 07887 but as 07893 was a french car, I wonder if the Paris Show car was not this one ??

Yes, they are interesting cars. Do you have a picture of the 1965 Paris Show car?

Here is a pic. You will notice it's an alloy car...

By interim, I mean body details (long nose 275 GTB with the short nose wheels like the 1965 Paris Show car).

There were less than 10 cars I think.

    Thanks.

David Piper has stated that he contributed to the development of the Long Nose 275 GTB along with that of the Long Nose 250 LM.

Then, 07887 could also be the 1965 Paris Show car as it's an alloy car. Thanks.
