Alfredo Ferrari (January, 1932 – June 30, 1956), nicknamed Alfredino or Dino, was the son of Enzo Ferrari. Enzo decided to name Alfredo after his grandfather. He also had a half-brother Piero Ferrari who presently owns 10% of Ferrari.

From an early age Enzo was grooming his son to be his successor, and therefore sent him to some of the best schools in Europe. Dino studied engineering in Switzerland. Soon afterwards, Alfredo fell ill, suffering from muscular dystrophy. He died on June 30, 1956 at the age of only 24, before his namesake automobiles Fiat Dino and different Ferrari Dino models were produced. Enzo was completely crushed about his sons early death, and the aforementioned models were produced in his sons honor.

I am not sure if this belongs here but it is better than on Enzo's post. I watched RAI Sport 2 the other night and a show covered the comparison between Nuvolari and Zannini.

During the show, the moderator noted that Nuvolari lost 2 sons to illness. His wife was talking to Laura Ferrari about losing children. Tazio's wife noted the loss with her faith, while Laura had a difficult time accepting the loss of Dino.
