Ask your regional director if your chapter does that with the dealer(s) down there. I guess its no problem up here, because there is the only dealer and the club has a close relationship with them (we're the smallest region out of all the FCA, only 33 active members!).

I don't know how it is with other club chapters, but the Western Canada Region of the FCA which I belong to, members get a 10% discount on parts at Brian Jessel Ferrari here in Vancouver. I saved close to $100 on an order of parts for my rebuild.

I am contacting Ferrari of Washington right now. I had it. My top is at my house and we just had a thunderstorm passing by-. S*+t.

I had a nice conversation with Kiley Triplett. He had traded some 348 brochures I had for some other brochures and manuals. Very nice guy. Maybe I cna get a discount? DISCOUNT AT FERRARI ? okay, maybe not!

I'll let you know David.

I am looking for the same thing for a 1974 Dino 246 GTS. I read in Cavallino (Oct. 98) that a soft folding top was an option with the 246, but no one I spoke to knows where to get one.

If anyone hears anything please let me know. Thanks.

Alrighty then. I just got off the phone with Joe at Ferrari of Washington. He said he was able to find 20 of these foldable targa tops in some master inventory of parts for Ferrari North America. The price is $1116. You can contact Joe at Ferrari of Washington to discuss purchasing and shipping and all the rest: 703-478-3606.

Goodluck - David

I've got a guy from Ferrari of Washington looking into it. He was thinking that there may be a few left at the parts depot for Ferrari NA. As soon as he gets back to me, I'll post his name and number.

David,

Can you ask your contact if he has a Ferrari part number for the folding top. Thanks for running this down.

I remember Dino 246 GTS' had a similar rare option. I presume there is a nice weight loss with the fabric top.

Ok Guys - here's the deal. I spoke with the guy via email the other day and he informed me of the following. He said that these folding tops were originally created by the factory for 355's for $1400. But the factory no longer makes them. He said the one he found was ordered by a 355 customer and was never picked up. This guy spoke with his mechanic/dealer the other day and was told that our best bet is to find it on the secondary market. I dont have any photo's of the top, but I'll see if this guy has any. Maybe if everyone on ferrarichat call's there local dealer, a few of these tops might be found.

I just met a guy over the weekend that had the collapsible top on his 348. He has been very happy with it. He said he got it from his local Ferrari dealer....somewhere in CT just recently. I'll email him and find out the specifics. I actually saw it and it looked pretty neat.

I think that is the one that I have heard of that the guy had for a 348 or a 355. I remember that name because it reminds me of an outdoor store that my dad usually buys stuff from.

Could it be this one (from a previous post...)

"Just bought a Carberella folding top.
$149 including shipping.(303)922-4774.
Great for sun and rain protection but can't drive with it on. Installs in about 15 seconds. "

It was about a 308/328 top but they may make other ones too.

Have you tried any of the dealers? Algar Ferrari of Philadelphia usually has everything known to Ferrari mankind in stock, and Wide World of Cars in New York has a large inventory as well. If not they should know the story with them.
I have heard about these tops too (you haven't gone insane), there was an article that featured some FCA guy or something and if I remember correctly he had one on either a 348 or a 355. I can't remember where I saw the article though. The magazines I read are quite extensive, but I think it was in Prancing Horse. I would check my magazines to try and find the article but they are at my other house. I remember reading your post about them a few weeks ago, and when the collapsible top was mentioned in the article I thought back to you and wondered if you ever found one.
Good Luck

I am looking for a collapsible folding top for a 348TS. It's a canvas top with a simple mechanism to fold it up and place behind the seat...Much easier to deal with than the standard removable roof.

I saw one on a FCA members 348 in Boston, so I know it exists (it came with the car when he bought it). I've called all of the parts and accessories places, but no luck.
If anyone knows where I can find one please drop me a line.

Thanks.
