Hi Jeff, Thanks a lot for the help and your efforts. May be I can return the favor one day? Thanks, Jim |

I just went out to the garage for a quick check on this. It's almost impossible to reach the nuts for the bar without removing the modules first. Just undo the nut at the top and the bottom of each module and slide them out - you don't have to unplug them, just move them aside. Then you need a fairly deep 8mm socket to get the nuts for the bar off the studs. Careful not to drop the nuts and washers where you can't reach them. |

Jim: If I recall correctly, there is a stud pointing downward from the bar into the Motronic ECU cavity on each side. You have to pull the covers and reach around until you find the small nut at the end of each stud. It's easier if you remove the modules. The bar comes right off once the nuts are removed. I don't think the later cars had this bar, which is why it doesn't appear in the commonly available reprinted parts book (April 94). |

Hi Group, Trying to remove the leather covered bar behind the seats so I can re-dye it (can't fine it in my parts manual). Thought I'd give a shout before I started tearing apart the interior. The attached picture illustrates the part indicated by the red arrow. Any advice would be great. Thanks, Jim Hilton |
