Jim, this may not be relevant but I thought I would mention it in case it helps. When I first bought my 348 I found that pressing the locking button in the central console caused the doors to lock then immediately unlock. It turned out that the drivers side door wasn't closed properly even though it appeared to be closed fully. Make sure both doors are firmly, fully closed. Sorry if I am stating the obvious here, I just thought it might be worth mentioning. Kind regards, Justyn. |

Thanks for the replies, Fanatic1 I'm pretty sure I tried the locks with the key out and in the ignition. I'll check it out. Noelrp - you may be right, 13 yrs old things go wrong. Jeff and all I'll let you know the outcome. Thanks again, Jim |

My 348ts does the same thing intermittantly. I haven't got around to doing a diagnosis/fix yet. I'll be watching for ideas, thanks! |

I had a similar problem with my car. It maybe that your driver side door lock actuator has gone bad. If so, no big deal it's only $65.00 - R&R is not so bad, the actuator can be accessed by revoming the cheesegrater panel (having smalls hands is a must). Good luck. |

You aren't trying to do this with your keys in the ignition are you? |

Hi Group, I've seen and have read previous threads on this topic, but It appears to me my lock issue may be a bit different? When I press the door lock button in the central console the door lock buttons in the door go down then pop up. If I press the drivers side down the doors lock as well as when I lock the car from the outside. The doors are closing correctly. I have checked and cleaned the large round electrical connection from the door to the car. The connections to the button in the middle console look ok and no broken wires. Do you think it's the push button in the central console? I can surely live with this, no big deal, but I'll like to get my 348 100%. Thanks in advance, Jim |
