I would love to know where my 1985 308 is these days. Sold it in 1996 to someone in Florida. Had it for 11 years. I heard that it went to California. VIN # 57375. Anyone have any ideas? |

Hi Jeff I think I might be taking you up on that :-) As you've got them in stock, you couldn't have a wander down and see if they are straight or not, like mine, could you ?!? <cheekygrin> I'd already priced them up on the site and the ones I looked at were 600 ... maybe I was looking at the wrong ones ? BTW I sent (collective) you an email yesterday asking about the 308 spreadsheet, and window switch. Cheers ! Nev |

Neville, I understood the Euro bumpers to be all fibreglass. Where's the 4mm of steel? BTW, my '82 Euro bumper bows OUT in the center. Dave @FoNE said he's seen a lot of bowed Euro bumpers, & thought it was exh. heat. BTW, is is possible to straighten Fibreglass that's bowed like this? My bumper has about a 1" bow. |

This is what I mean .... (sorry for low quality)
Someone has said that it looks like a repair to them, but why would someone repair a bumper and put a perfect curve in the centre of it (if it's meant to be straight ?!?) Also, I know the exhausts get hot, but if they got hot enough to BEND a 4mm THICK steel bumper, surely all the fibreglass, plastic lights etc would be deformed/melted too ?!?! Thanks for the replies :-) p.s. love the number plate Steve :-) |

The bumper should be relativly straight with no more than about a 1/2" bow in it from factory. Many have deformed due to exhaust heat. I have seen bumpers that look like bananas. |

Straight (no chaser :-) ) See below.
Sounds like the hot exhaust deformed your bumper :-( Enjoy the Drive, Steven R. Rochlin

Should the rear bumpers on a 308 GTS (euro, 1980 carb) be relatively straight, or should there be a noticeable curve in, for the centre 1/3 ? |
