Kevin, the cats are of a new design (core), but they are prohibitively expensive!
Be glad it is on FNA's dime.

Sorry I didn't clarify, my car is a '97. I tried it running, and that did the trick, looks like both my cats are toast. The dealer is going to warranty them, but are they just using the same problimatic cats, or is there an update? I don't want to pay for the cats (2k-6k?) next time, that would be insane!

95 355's are not OBDII. The only way to scan this car is with the SD1 from Ferrari or Boshe. A generic obd2 scan tool will not work with this car.

I didn't try it running, I'll try in the morning. I'll let you know if that helps...

For what ever reason...the car has to be running to pull the code down. It you already tried that, my next question was did the scan tool get power...if not checkk the power and ground pins at the socket in the car. Generic scan tools work fine on '96 and up...I have never tried a '95 model.

My check engine light came on this morning, So I decided to pull the code at work (I'm a mechanic).
But for some reason, neither of my OBDII scan tools would communicate with the Italian Stalion. What are you Guys doing to pull your own codes? I own a basic 300.00 OBDII scan tool and also the 8000.00 Snap-on MODIS tool. I didn't have any sucess with either of them. Any information would be appreciated right now, as paying the stealership 100.00 for a scan is just out of the question if it can be done with my equipment, Thanks...
