Richard, I got a parking pass with the tickets so I guess I'll park where the pass designates me. Since they are Road Atlanta Hospitality tickets I assume the parking will be near their suite which is next to the old skidpad area. |

Thanks Frank - I hope that is all that is not OEM. If so I will feel comfort knowing for a mere $2010 (Gasp!)plus tires I can have an all original. Thanks Jeff! Your buddy at Road Atlanta gave you his last tix so I have to be a plebeian and buy tix at the Gate! Where you gonna park?? |

Richard, your car looks great ! However, for your Ferrari to be considered as you term it a "museum quality" Boxer it must be stock and contain all original factory parts. So, you will need to change the wheels and tires to the proper TRX/Michelins as well as replace any other non-OEM parts with factory ones if you really want a concours or "museum quality" BB512i. Otherwise, no matter how good the car may look, it's still just a driver. You see a lot of Ferraris on the market that look great but seem to be priced below market. As it turns out a lot of the stock OEM parts have been replaced by aftermarket parts which dramatically decrease the car's value due to the high cost of OEM parts needed to bring the car back to original condition. Of course if a driver is what you want, aftermarket parts are just fine and often times of a higher quality than the OEM parts anyway. |

I must be old fashioned as I prefer the stock OEM wheels and tires. |

Quite right, Richard. Those tyres just add to the drama, in my book |

I have an '83 BBi and was told I have the "carb wheels" from an earlier carb'ed model. See my profile.I like the way they look. Radial TA's - old tech . I won't track this museum quality car anyway! |

Thanks for for the info. I have found one source, S.L Competition in Georgia. http://www.garedcars.com They can do a custom order (4-6 weeks) Boxer center lock 18" wheels for $3,800 a set or 17" set for $3,600 Here's a picture they sent me of a Boxer with the 17" ones.

"Dana has changed the wheels on her 512 boxer. Have Dave Maranelloman track down what she used." A) Dana did have here wheels changed! B) she also got the hubs changed to a 5-bolt set C) this allowed basically unlimited access to wheels. If you want to know the real details call David Moore @ Moorespeed (512)474-RACE |

Dana's wheels look very nice. Our cars were in the shop together last week at Moorespeed in Austin. David Moore put those wheels on for her. He mentioned to me that he had to do some special maching to make them work. |

Gary I have a "standard" 512BB but when I bought it a couple of years ago I saw a 512BB that was uprated for track use (owned by Chris Rea, the guitarist). I still have the spec sheet that says it had wheels by Compomotive, 17 inch three piece with Pirelli PZeros fitted. (335/35ZR17 rear & 235/45ZR17). They also did a 16 inch version. |

Gary: If you purchase I BB512 I will have no other alternative than to hate you! The Boxer is my favorite modern Ferrari and my next Ferrari. I just wish that I could upgrade from my 308QV now since I believe the prices for a good Boxer will be 6 figures within the next year or two. Best of luck in your search. Just make sure you keep the original wheels when you upgrade. Ken PS Search the arhives since this has been covered before. I believe that the conclusion was that TR wheels will not fit either.

I am considering buying a 512BBi, but I don't want to be stuck with the Boxer's standard 15" splined wheels and very limited tire choices. Does anyone know of a wheel company that makes a larger diameter splined wheel that would work and look correct for a boxer? |
