There was only one drawback.
I wear a full-face helmet with a separate neck support. This makes it very difficult for me to be able to look down and see my center console. After the last session yesterday I noticed water running from under my car. I just knew it was a bad hose. When I looked under I saw it was coming from my a/c drain tube! I checked my a/c switch and it was on. Evidentally I turned it on when I was feeling for my rear defog (oil fan) switch. My gloves didn't help either. I have no idea how many sessions I was driving with my a/c on. Horsepower drain aside, I just don't think my compressor is made to spin at 8000 rpms.

Ok, I just spent this past weekend at Barber's for a 2 day track event. The oil temp never once went past 3/4 with the fan on.
I ran a few sessions hard with the fan off as a control and the oil temp crept up as usual to the max. I then ran the other sessions with the fan off, let the temp climb and then turned the fan on.
I am very happy to report that the fan stopped the temp from increasing and would slowly pull it back down. I could not get it to drop past 3/4 but that is still a HUGE improvment.
I really believe that this will help with the general hot running issue (that many 308's have) in the summer months as well. Cooling the oil off will have a secondary effect on the water temp.
If anyone has any questions about this mod at all please feel free to email me. Remember, less the $100, stock appearence (including switch), and a couple of afternoons will finally cool your car.
Check my earlier post for the pics if you have not seen them.
