What?! F-ing quit! Owning your own buisness might be scary (don't know what next month will bring) but the rewards in FREEDOM ALONE make it all worth it (and the potential to actually make real money is just an add-on niceity.) I guess I'm spoiled! Hell, I can drink on the job if I want. Then again, I encourage everybody to do what they like to relax. I promote watching movies or taking some Quake time during buisness hours in our theater. Funny thing, productivity actually goes UP! People don't abuse the freedom, and are much less stressed at work. The time they do put in is focused, and on-point. PS: Your IT needs a Clue-By-Four. We've got a Netscreen (dedicated, ASIC based) firewall, and all UNIX servers. All services enabled internal origin (so like AOL IM, videoconferernce, games, etc all work.) 4 years uptime. I once added a script to respond to a popular M$ exploit. Instead of crashing, I spit back "No M$ here, go f--- yourself!" |

" think that last sobig virus put our IT person's fears over the top so no more external emails, "chat" rooms or anything else of the sort..." Go tell your IT person to grow a brain! My office had ZERO problems with the last few virus's b/c we have an UPDATED FIREWALL, UPDATED WINDOWS, and UPDATED VIRUS software. My home, same way. I use grisoft (free) and zonealarm (free) and had NO virus's infect my machine. If poeple would just pay attention and update their stuff, this kind of thing would not happen. OH, and you can make all that stuff update automatically so you don't have to even think about it... ok, I'll get off my soap box now. |

Ive gotten around firewalls fairly easily. I would go to google, type in www.ABCD.com(or whatever site it restricted) and then acces the site through that. If that fails I just use the "cache" link to the site thats located under it. Hope that helps with your Fchat probs. |

Guys, We also have a major firewall at work.....right now I can still access F Chat.....obviously....but I did go to some "anonymous web proxy" sites as you suggested, just in case I need them.....and I can't access them! The firewall gives me an error...."this page is denied, classified as anonymizer or translator".....I also got a couple messages.."This page is denied, criminal skills etc...." I bet Ty (360 mode) has the same problem...... |
