go to: htpp://italjet.stevejenkins.com

Most scooters are too "girlie" for me...the Italjets are pretty cool. Steve let me ride his and it has decent "get up and go"....Not cheap, but unique and different.

The ET2 is $1,000 less than the ET4 and has a top speed of 42 mph. It will accelerate with the ET4 for about 100 yards. The ET4 has a top speed of about 65 mph and does not need the 2 stroke motorcycle oil.

It all depends on the top speed you want. Both are exactly the same size.

I actually wouldn't buy a new Vespa. I have found them to significantly overpriced relative to the competition, even with a hefty discount. I would go with an Italjet, Malaguti (Ducati Corse Replica), or Derbi GP (made in Spain) before a Vespa. Having said that, however, if you do go Vespa, go for the ET2. It's a lot cheaper and not too much slower.

Thanks for your help guys! Looks like we have some nods for the ET4, and the classic Vespas as well. If I get one I'll post pics, black or red is what Im looking at.

I would recomend buying an older model that has been restored. They have the best lines and are likely to appreciate in value over time. I have 2 of them to drive around on the island and they are the greatest.
I bought a '79 PX125 with a matching sidecar from a lady who bought it new and it had 200 miles on it. then my wife got jealous so I bought a 1963 150 Model VBB. These are regarded has having the coolest lines and it's got 8 inch wheels instead of the 10 inchers on the new scoots, but it really looks cool. I'll try to post some pictures of them. They are a perfect compliment to a Ferrari. All that Italian design in the garage. Check out a place called Scooterworks.com in Chicago for any parts you need, and ScooterRS sells completely restored models. Good Luck and happy scootering!!

Definitely get the ET4 over the ET2. The ET4 is a four stroke and has a top speed of a little over 60 mph with loads more torque than the 50cc two stroke ET2.

The ET4 is exactly the same dimensions as the ET2 so storage and passenger capacity will be the same. The ET2 will carry two but the top speed with two aboard will be something like 32 mph. You can reach about 42 mph with one rider. The ET2, being a two stroke has an oil injection tank that you need to keep two strke oil in. A light on the instrument panel will alert you when you need injection oil. The ET4, being a four stroke engine does not need this.

Ferrari of Houston and Ferrari of Dallas are dealers in Texas for the new ones. FoDallas also has a remote location in West Village in Lower Greenville of Dallas.

I found a 1979 at a yard sale for $60. It wasent running but I thought for that price you cant go wrong. Only took a few hours and a little carb work and a gass flush and it was good as new. Some of my friends like it better than my ferrari (but then again I dont let them drive the F-)

I have an older P125X. It's the greatest. I got it for my wife, refurbished it and we drove it for about 2 years. I then took it off the road to do a complete resto. That was about 7 years ago. I'm now 90% done with it and can't wait to get it back on the road.

They are the greatest. I agree with Mikez - nothing clears the head like a ride on a scooter. I used to commute 26 miles each way on it to my job in Vermont and it was heaven!

Hello Shan! Pleasant surprise to see you, I see you starting to get busy here on Fchat. Semesters ok I suppose, only class I like is my Arts Hist class. Hows it going for you?

I was thinking the ET4 because its highway legal 60+ I believe, and faster!. Although, you have to have a motorcycles license. The ET2 you can hop on it right away, no licesne, but it only goes 40. 40 seems kinda fast though for its size. I just dont know.

I have thought about getting one for my wife, who doesn't yet ride, but might find it enjoyable, short of a real motorcycle. The NY city Vespa dealer is totally sold out of the bigger one in the good colors. I haven't really shopped it online, but if anybody finds any deals on new, authorized fully warranted from a legitimage source type, i'd welcome the input. (Hell, i'd like to ride it myself, but i'm still on the hunt for one of them there Confederate Hellcats, y'all).

never owned one but ridden around on one several times. the "bigger" engine, no idea what the displacement numbers are, is pretty damn fast!

I had an old Honda Spree and loved it. I had my eye on an ET4, but a scooter just isn't practical for me anymore.

Go for it - nothing clears your head like a nice long ride on a scooter.

I think my new "auto" maybe an Vespa ET4. Any thoughts or comments about them? Has any one owned them before, or have experience with them? I figured you guys might have had experience with them since their Italian. Im might try to get one by Summer time next yr, possibly spring time too.
