When I had mine back in 1988. I could have sworn that their were fifteen teenage girls checking out my package!!

Best part of it all had to be getting shaved...lol talk about sporting wood!!

Funny thing is she had to have been in her 80s... I bet I made her day.

I had one, feels like you are wetting yourself when that thin wire goes up there. Plus it was cool to see your heart beating on the monitor.

Incidentally an angiogram is done to map your coronary arteries to find out if any are clogged. Angioplasty is done to unblock a clogged artery, using a balloon catheter which is expanded to enlarge the clogged artery. A stent is placed nowadays almost always in the area of the blockage..some are irradiated to keep restenosis from occuring. Anything else you want to know?

I have had several angiograms. The first one was at Emory University at the hospital that invented the procedure ( Grunzig from Switzerland came up with the procedure). It doesn't hurt, it scares you, and you have the be awake even though nowadays they give you pills that make you forget everything that happened...I had it done twice more as well as two angioplasties. It is definitely better than a heart attack, that is for sure.

My dad had angioplast attempted on him unsuccessfully. Had to have a quadruple bypass surgery instead. Didn't survive the ordeal unfortunately.

Please take care of your heart!

My father had one last tuesday. They found a major artery had been clogged and that if he had waited any longer he would have had a major heart attack. They un-clogged it and he is doing much better now...sleeps better, and feels better.

Im no doctor though :-)
