Jerry usually I would agree with that but for a dining room system that maybe is just going to be used for backgroud sound and doesn't want to take up alot of space the bose wave might be A choice (the best maybe not) but somewhat cheap and a good sound that you are going to get out of a little cd player |

I wouldn't have a Bose shoved up my ass. Overpriced and mediocre sound, IMO. |

Ronny, 2 years ago, I picked up the perennial winner of Mini-systems for dirt cheap. (it has scored highest several years in a row in several audio shoot-outs). As mentioned, scored 2 UK-built Pioneer XC-L5 Units sans speakers a couple of years ago on ubid.com for $89 each, and 2 sets of PolkAudio R10's for $79 a pair at Circuit City (I'm a buy-speakers-separate-from-unit kinda guy). Outlay, sans tax = $168 a system. You can buy the highly recommended system with Pioneer's correctly mated S-L5V speakers for 250-355 US$ (151 - 215 GBP) audioreview (To add confusion, as a system it is properly called: Pioneer Lifeplus NS-5 CD Shelf System) DealtimeUK's full range of mini-systems |

Pat: I would appreciate it if you stopped referring to me as "Matt"-thanks. Again, if you'll check the latest lemus topics you'll see the names lemus is posting under. |

Get yourself one of those Bose wave systems for 499. Small and good sounding and the remote is RF instead of IF |

I'm currently in the market for a reasonably priced single CD player ( reasonable I mean less than $600 )Any suggestions ? Am I better getting a package, or buying the speakers seperatly ? It will only be used in the dining room, so nothing too fancy needed. Grateful for any suggestions / reccommendations. Thanks Ronny |
