Bruce: I already called Orange County Choppers. They will not do a PPI.(That doesn't mean they wouldn't work on the bike once i own it, though). Adam's suggestion is worth pursuing; Haverstraw Cycles or whatever its called is an American Ironhorse dealer and for that reason they are familiar with the S&S engine on these things. Thanks, guys. (Adam, i am about 20 or so miles north of NYC and the Hellcat is in the city). |

I am glad I could help you get on the right path, did you find a good deal? This is my sugestion go to: www.americanironhorse.com go to the dealer locator and you will find 5-6 in NY. American iron horse usualy has their dealerships at pretty good independant bike shops that specialize in V-Twins. I think it is a good place to start. If you buy, let me know, I would love to see photos Where do you live? Adam |

I'm still poking around, and thanks to Adam have gotten on track for a Confederate Hellcat, series one, as modified by the West Coast guys that run Hellcat Alley. Bitchin' Bike. There's one here in NY that is already done, and i am waiting for the arrangements to be made to go see it. It will be a sale by the private owner. So, knowing how important it is to do a PPI, i'll be damned if i can find an independent bike mechanic to do a PPI. Everybody seems to work for the Corporation (Harley, that is). And by the way, for all you Harley buffs out there, i'll also be damned if i can find a dealer that is better than worthless. (One guy had a used limited production factory custom i was interested in; as of three weeks, he has still not followed up. Likewise with the Harley dealer near me, who was supposed to get back to me after tallying up the list of add-ons for a proposed bike. These guys obviously don't have to do anything to sell their product.) So the question remains: Any good bike mechanics in the NYC area? |
