They have a manual locking device that would stop iy going down in case of a hydraulic leak. I think I will put an underground one in my next house.

Ahhh, a solid deck, that's good. I've always had this thought of the rack falling down on top of the other. I once had an experience a long time ago where the hydraulic jack had a leak and the car slowly started to go back down and back then I didn't know much better and trusted the jack but now not any more and always use jack stands to back me up.

Modman,

I was also worried about oil leeks, but rest assured, it is a solid deck with drip pans installed. :-) I have to take care of my babies.

I figured if we hijacked this thread and put it on a car related path, it would be a good thing.

Adam, I would at least put your top up on the conv. , what if oil starts leaking on the 360? would be a mess. It may not be leaking now but later down the road, what if? it's a Ferrari, like the Porsche, known for leaking oil. By the way, I found this chit chat quite entertaining like the Jerry Springer show and should bring in more viewers, you can't be too serious here and that's what I started to realize lately, but some take it too serious, those are the ones that make it entertaining worth my time to check out and read.

TC/Gordo, Thank you very much.

Ken, floor to tracks is 112 inches, I can get an mercedes or a bmw underneith with the F/P-car on top.

I bought mine from this company, they were very good to work with.

www.aclifts.com

It will be a year or two until the house we are building with a much bigger garage will be finished, I installed the lift to hold me over. I keep the others at mny warehouse.

Adam, this is what I have been thinking of doing in my 2 car garage. Do you know the measurement from the floor to the door tracks? Any info on that lift? Thanks

Not sure actually. It is a 1997 BMW M3 sedan. I think it is about *this* high. ;-)

I would like to be able to put my '79 911 on the lift as well (not at same time of course) but I think that car may be too tall.

Anyway, to dream, to dream...

How tall is the car you own now? You need the height of the 2 cars plus 8 inches. I had my tracks raised about 10 inches to give me the clearance. cost me about $500 for the work.

Adam, yea, that has occurred to me as well. I though I could change the door to one of those "roll up" ones (if the stupid hoousing association would allow it, *grunble*) cealing is about 12.5 feet. any ideas on lifts?

Joshua,

A couple of degree slope in my garage was not a problem for my lift. The height of the garage door tracks are a bigger problem.

Joshua, whatever it takes. I had to 'settle' for a 308 because it is the narrowest modern Ferrari built to make it fit into my given space.

Nice profile picture. Is that Mika Salo in the third car? I made myself one like that for my 1/18 collection.

PS: I take some pleasure out of hijacking this thread. Seems to be only fair to me after all the threads the troll hijacked this morning.

Heh, Word! I am trying to think out my storage situation also. I live in a townhouse with one garage, so I am thinking about installing a lift. My garage has a slight slope to it (maybe one or two degrees) so I am not sure it will work.

I think it's entertainment. At first you take him for real, after a while you realize it is hopeless. Yes, sad for some good threads, but eventually the noise will die down.

Funny how they perk up once in a while. At least this one doesn't post any indecent pictures. I say, Martin, go race him and the problem will take care of itself while he's plastered up against the front of a semi.

Man it sucks that someone actually has the energy to waste being such a troll. He claims to be twenty years old so maybe he's a young kid (not that that's really too young to have sense)trying to ruin things. It's been said to ignore these people but as soon as one person does that another takes up the battle. I hate it that Rob has to see this happen on his forum. At least we do not get severeal of them here a day like some of the other forums. I don't think deleting or banning would help at all because they would just pop back up. Isn't there a way to block the IP address? I started off by welcoming the guy but in a matter of 2 days has ran himself into the ground. No saving him now so what do we do. Deal with him? I hate even contributing to this thread. The guy is a waste of time.
