if it costs $60, it would make more sense to just spring for the M1.

Interesting. Sports Car market sell price guide for street cars shows '71-72 3.0 CSL's at $16-20K and '72-'73 3.0 CS's at $8.5-11K. $51k I guess includes the healthy premium for the racey features.

That is quite the car. I saw one when I went to Germany last June. I got an inside tour of the M facility and they had one there, pretty sweet car.

32k? Wow, this is pretty much my dream car vintage car (I'd get this right after my 355 and F40)- not bad at all..

That is hands down my favorite BMW though I would want a 3.5 CSL racer car as opposed to the 3.0 street car.

That being said the price is in dreamland. If it hasn't met reserve at 51K it's likely priced at 60K +.

This car does have low mileage and what appears to be very detailed history and records but it's a 35-40K car.

A similar 3.0 CSL sold a year ago with 85,000 miles for 32K.

Still a nice car.

Beautiful! One of my all time favorite Bimmers. When I was living in the DC area there was one of those (well not a true CSL like that, but the "normal" coupe version I guess as I'm not all that familiar with older Bimmers) sitting at a house on River Road near Potomac, MD that I would drive past all the time that looked great, but kinda neglected. I always wanted to stop by and see if it was for sale (not like I could've afforded it at the time anyway).

Who wants to loan me 51k+ for this beauty?
