What is "you look very pretty" in Russian? Might as well give it one last shot across the language barrier!
She could just be very shy, imagine being in a forign country yourself, speaking only a smattering of the language.

Aw, man - wish I'd seen this - Having grown up in a community which has a large percentage of Russians, (Mother's step-dad is Russian, as well) I studied Russian for 2 years, as did my Brother before me. Still have a reference book for words/phrases/situations.
One and all - if you ever get invited to a Russian Wedding - (Molokan religion) - by all means, GO. I've been to 5. A capella congregation of Psalm singers (in Russian - think Gregorian Chant), jumpers, traditional dress - phenomenal. |

Well, anyway, thought I would follow up on my word and post any news that happened since last month's thread for those who remembered the Russian tennis chick...
To save you the burden of a long drawn out post, I figure I'd give a condensed outline version...
Met a guy last year at the tennis center..
Guy's girlfriend happens to be on the tennis team when I ran into them studying at the coffee shop at B&N few weeks back, where we were introduced...
Went back next day to same spot to study, and long and behold, girlfriend's friend was russian tennis chick who was sitting with them...
Made attempt to initiate conversation and said hellp in russian. Tennis chick did not seem too receptive..
See tennis chick walking by from a distance yesterday while I was sitting outdoors on the benches on my laptop.. Was obviously looking my way, cause it made me look up from my screen since I noticed someone looking over in my line of vision...
See tennis chick at library tonite as I walk by.. Was sitting with a bunch of guys... Tried to say hello, waving to her... Makes little or no attempt to acknowledge..
Well folks, sorry, I have nothing exciting to follow up with... Guess Ken Lee owes me a drink, I tried... I'm getting too tired , and too old for this nonsense.. *shrugs* |
