Cobra R weighs about 150 lbs more than the Regular Cobra (99/01) or the Mustang GT @ 3590 lbs... Might as well just get an 03 Cobra, with more power, AC, 6 disc, and a much smoother ride for 15 to 20k less (then again I guess im a tad bit bias :p) .

Now Iv never driven an R myself... but from the way the guys I know who own them describe them, sound alot like the R/T10's of the early 90's (without the mechanical problems)

I called you Mr. Class since you lacked it in another post last week.

Ok, here we go anyway....I have 99 Cobra still, and it has 73k on it. Other then alot of tyres and lots of brakes, pads and rotors, I had no problem, up until last August-02.

The #7 con rod went dry and started creating a ticking, and sure enough, as I was traveling Europe, I had the motor pulled and a new crank, mains brgs, rods brgs, and a new con rod put in. So, since then it has run perfrect and seems to be a bit more power, dont know how or why. But, it is a great car. Very fun, very smooth, and VERY easy to control. Throw it hard into a corner and just hold it at the angle you want it. Its also a great commuter car. But, alas, I want an S4 for I can go to the snow with 4 peeps and board.

We just took a 2001 "Bullitt GT" on trade.....what a neat car. It needs another 100 HP, at least, but it sure sounds like it is already there.

Mr Class! Wow! I feel so....classy!

And I didn't know you own a 99 Cobra!?

I ordered a black/black 99 Cobra and drove it for three years and put 45k on it. I really, REALLY loved that car. Leased it though, and when I went back to school, the lease ended and I could not afford to buy out the lease. Ah well.

Did you buy yours new? If so, did you have any of the problems that plagued them?

I didn't experience the wheel-hop, vibration, or the low HP. I did, however, get the recall done for the HP issues, and it put about 6rwhp back into the engine.

God, I wish I still had that car! I think I was one of the first 5 1999 Cobra owners in the state.

Mr Class.

I have driven one. I put aorund 100 miles on it, and thank god it was at night. Hot and noisy is right. We took the exhaust off as well past the cats and made custom side exhaust.

In compasion to my car, well there is none. Totaly different and a TON more powerful. I have also been around T-Hill as a pasenger, and it is a great car on the track.

Over priced, loud, and hot. I;ve never driven one but some guy used to drive one around in my town last year. It sounded so nice, but i hear they are loud on the inside, dont have A/C, and have a harsh ride. When new, a Z06 was less expensive, faster and more comfortable.

Just curious as to your impressions. I've driven one, although it was only for about 15ft and I didn't go over 2mph.

With 385hp and 385tq, 1.02 g's on the skidpad, lighter weight, and overall package, what kind of a drive is it?

I've spoken with people who have driven it, but have never driven any serious cars, so I'd like to get an experienced exotic car lover's impression of the car.
