Well, I'm not sure when he got it...but I was up in Dallas visiting my friend D. Roberts about a year ago +/-, and we saw Mark filling it up with gas in the Preston Center area. Could not freaking BELIEVE it! So, D. Roberts wheels his Infiniti into the same gas station (this is before we knew who the owner was) to "get some gass, too". Lo and behold, it WAS Mark Cuban, in his trademark black t shirt & jeans. Chatted us up. Seemed to be a nice enough guy. We spent more time giving him kudos for beginning to turn around the Mavericks than talking about the car....but I must have drooled a freaking GALLON. And then he got in, started it up, and drove off. BTW, no license plate... |

Dave, They snuck that one in on me. When did Mark Cuban get the McLaren??? I sold his buddy Rex a 550 and at that time Mark was driving a Lexus and it was the only car he had. I would be buying all my dreamcars if I had his deep pockets. |

Gil Deferran drives a Honda S2000 and a Honda Minvan (though it may have switched to a Toyota recently). Helio Castroneves drives a Toyota, but also has a 360 Modena coupe (which he once got in trouble for with for driving on the Homestead track during a Penske testing session.). |

Was home last night, looking at my car magazines and realized that i really DO know a celebrity... i know a few, actually...! i know James Glickenhaus... Met him a few months ago at WWOC; he was driving his GT40... He also owns a Maserati, a Lola T-70 and a Ferrari 330 P4... His wife drives a Porsche Cayenne Turbo... i know Roland Linder - we had dinner in Vegas in July...! He drives a Ferrari F40 LM Evoluzione... ...& after reading an article in a recent issue of Sports Car International, i realized that i almost know Gerald Rousch... Sure we've never spoken, but we both frequest a website called FerrariChat.com... i'm not sure what he drives... Lastly, i know this really cool guy by the name of Jordan Witherspoon... He's not famous yet, but will be... Right now, he drives a white Mustang GT but he'll be in an F40 in no time... |

Daltrey kept a Countach with Nevada plates in his usually closed BH garage (house had a 360 view of city/valley from upstairs) for a while (his carport held 5 other cars - this'n'that) - replaced it with a stunning GTO - Pontiac, that is. Moved to the Valley recently, haven't been there. |

When I was a young Captain (1987), our Wing Commander, then Col Richard Meyers (now General Meyers, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) drove a TR-6 every day, as he had for years. I heard he still has and drives it. Absolutely great guy with a great family with a big ol' sheepdog named Higgins. Our Center Commander prior to him, General Rees, was a huge Morgan afficianado and drove his +4 every day. |

My parents are good friends with Doug Shierson, who lives a few streets over from them. Shierson Racing has had a few cars in CART, IRL, etc.. They won the Indy 500 in 1990 with Arie Luyendyk driving. Anyway I finally got a chance to meet him a few months ago and check out his TDF Blue 575M. Still waiting on someone to send me the pics though... -R |

Michael Andretti: When I first met my wife she was a big fan of his. After his first year back from his disaster in F1, he drove for the Target team. He was signing autographs at a Target and believe it or not there was a huge line . She went to the back of the line , I went to the front to see how long the wait would be. I stood in front of him with my hands on my hips and just stared. He kept looking up and finally said "what". I told him I thought it was funny that a year ago he was racing in Monaco staying at the Lowes, now he's sitting in a Target in Riverside( a blue collar city ) oh how the mighty have fallen. He didn't think that was funny. I found my wife and we left. Next day was first day of practice for Long Beach. After his session was over I found him ready to leave on his scooter. I stood in front of him and this time politely asked for a autograph. His former wife tried to push me away but since I weigh 230 she didn't get far. As he handed the autograph back it dawned on him who I was. I told him I was just messing with him. Since then I would run into him several times a year at various events. He is a sport bike rider and a few years ago after Long Beach we rode our local canyons together, a fun day. |

I'm always lamenting about how small the town is where I live and how I can't get parts, or anything foreign for that matter. But we do have a frequent visitor....Ted Nugent. I've seen him occasionally in the truck motorsports shop called Planet Powersports, and nearly walked right into him downtown as he was leaving a taxidermy shop. He was driving a Bronco painted up like a Zebra. I also had a 2nd job at a vette dealership for a while, and worked on his ZR-1 (green/tan). He sold it shortly thereafter....wonder if it was something I did? |

He definitely bought the F1. He said he got the call and was told that someone else also wanted it and it would be held for him until noon. This was about 10am. He had less than two hours to make up his mind. He returned the call about 11am to go ahead and buy the car. End of story |

I have to retell the story about my brush with someone who may be classified somewhat famous. While going through Ferrari orientation at FoHouston before going to FoDallas, I was sitting at my desk on the showroom. Right in front of me sat the #12 333SP that had won its class in 1999 at Lemans. I had had an opportunity to get to really know the car and look it over very well during my time there. While sitting at my desk, I noticed a black 550 drive up and an older gentleman and very stately looking lady get out. They came in and as she excused herself to the ladies room, he began to look over the 333SP. Not wanting for him to feel ignored, I stepped over and said something like, "very interesting car, isn't it"? He smiled and said "yes, but I believe I prefer the gated box shifter over the sequential gearbox in this car". Realizing that he probably knew at least a little about the Ferrari race cars, I asked him if he had ever done any racing. He answered that he had race some and enjoyed it "immensely". Assuming that he had raced SCCA or club racing, I asked if it was one of these two types of racing. He said, "no, I did most of my racing on the continent". By now I knew he was well versed in racing and realized I had failed to introduce myself. I held out my hand to him and apologized for this oversight and said, "I am sorry I failed to introduce myself, my name is James Dunne". He took my hand and shook it firmly and said, "James, I am pleased to make you acquaintance, my name is Stirling Moss". My knees almost buckled as I realized I was shaking the hand of a true legend and did not recognize him. He was in Houston to introduce Mario Andretti at the awards banquet the night before the Houston GP as "Driver of the Century". Just about the time I finally gathered my wits about me and met his wife, I turned around and actually bumped into Mario Andretti who was meeting at FoH to pick up a car to drive for the weekend. Needless to say, I suffered serious overload. Somehow I maintained my composure but after they left, I had to go into the restroom and calm myself down. Quite a morning for someone who absolutely loves racing and respects highly the men who have made history in the sport. I am a very fortunate man. |

Scott Anderson, You asked earlier about Greg Ray and his driving this year. I just looked over the final IRL standings and he finished the year in 15th out of 37 drivers with 253 points. He finished ahead of such drivers as Buddy Rice, Sarah Fisher, Buddy Lazier, Jacques Lazier, Michael Andretti, Dario Franchitti, Robby Gordon, Airton Dare, Jimmy Vasser and Billy Boat to name a few. For only running a partial season and breaking in a new car and crew, I guess he did acceptably. I know he is not happy with the final standings but I also know he is always striving to improve. He is probably one of the most physically fit drivers on the circuit. Every time I see him he is either on his way to or way from the gym. |

When I worked for a Ford Dealer just north of Toronto we had a bunch of TO Bluejays who had vehicles from us for helping shill the dealership. Dave Steib Roberto Alomar and others. One of them was the Center Fielder Devon White who was driving one of our vehicles. He came in in quite a frazzle one day asking to see the owner because he really needed to get out of the truck and into something else. Everyone else was giving him a hard time about his truck. "Hey here I am a professional athlete and I am black, and for some reason my White Full Sized Ford Bronco is making people yell HEY OJ at me all the time." We got him into a Lincoln Mark VIII and he was happy |

Bobby Bonilla (as Kendall said) has a beautiful 300SL Gullwing that I believe is up for sale (silver). He plans on driving his G500 into the ground (loves it) and has a blue 360 Spider that he enjoys whipping around. Nelson Peltz (Triarc) has a bunch of SUVs but has a BMW Z8 somewhere in his collection. Michael Jordon has (maybe not anymore) a red 550 w/ chrome rims. Latrell Sprewell picked up his daughter everyday from our middle school in a black Tahoe w/ spinners. Missy Elliot has a lime green modified Murcielago, a dark blue 360 Spider, and a red hooked up Hummer H2.

I met Robert Duvall, he owns an apt 1/2 block from me in Buenos Aires, cool guy but he's into horses not cars. I met George Hamilton at Cavallino last year, we spoke for a while, he had a California & a Daytona Spider, was driving a Bentley Azure that day I grew up with the Sikorskys of helicopter fame, Nick, Igors son is practically my uncle & he got me started on cars, great guy, mostly into Porsches but he loves my toys |

I know some hockey guys, Brett Hull, Sean Hill, Norm Maciver, Darby Hendrickson, Bill Watson... all have trucks or SUV's nothing flashy. Of course we all live in northern MN/WI P.S. How does Greg Ray have all those cars? When was the last time he had "a ride"? |

I was good friends in college with one of the guys from the Amex commercials that are driving around the country in the VW microbus following baseball. He also played a few cameo roles on Law and Order. |

LL Cool J, 37 Quaker Ridge Road, Manhasset, NY, 11030... Never met him but he goes into the Barnes & Noble right by his house all the time. The Bird used to work there, she used to watch him come in and stand by the magazines; he'd pick one out and pretend to read it while he watched everyone else... |

I'm related to Raine Maida (lead singer of Our Lady Peace) and Chantele Kreviatzik (solo artist, probably didn't spell it right, she did leaving on a jetplane for the movie Armageddon and a bunch of other stuff). They drive a new Volvo wagon, maybe a V70 or whatever the new one's called. |

A few years ago, I chased Steven Seagal on the freeway in his red 308. He was IN FIRST GEAR ON THE FREEWAY!!!! What a moron! Kobe Bryant drives around here in either a titanium Vanquish or a Black 550 with black wheels. He'll probably have to ship them to Colorado. Eric Dickerson with his white Testarossa (License plate "SHARK 29"). DL

I sold a new Range Rover 4.6 HSE to Ronnie Stern, the NHL player who retired 2 years ago. He also has a 2001 911 Cabriolet. Great guy too.....no arrogance or attitude, unlike some of the pro sports stars I have met. We chat on occasion. |
