Even though that was most of my weekend, I had a great time watching the race... every minute of it. Of course the Ferrari 333 was in about 75% of the coverage. Even my wife, who's not a huge racing fan enjoyed watching hours on end with me. I can't wait for the complete coverage of Sebring 12 hours and Le Mans 24 hours. I've always watched F1 start to finish, but it's a neat experience to watch most of the 24 hour race. You literally feel the "endurance" with the racers.

Thanks for the marathon updates Rob! I think the FCA was looking for a new race reporter for the newsletter...

Final Result...

The #55 Ferrari 348 finished in 30th place, that's amazing considering there were over 80 starters in the race.

I guess at 6:00am Eastern Time the #12 Ferrari 333 had radiator problems and officially retired. Good race guys, it was a pleasure to spend a day watching this beautiful machine compete at the front with the best road racing drivers in the world.

The Corvette #2 in the GTS class looks to win the entire race!!! If the #2 goes out, a historic GT car Porsche could win the overall.

9:30am Eastern Time - 3.5 hours left to Race...

I go to sleep for a little and I wake up to find the #12 Ferrari 333 not even in the race. What happened? I did wake up and 1 minute later the race leading #16 blew an engine. I guess I'm good luck for Ferrari when I'm watching, but not when I sleep.

The #55 Ferrari 348 is in 39th place.

The #30 Ferrari 355 is in 43rd place.

2:20am Eastern Time - 10.66 hours left to Race...

#12 Ferrari 333 still in 2nd place, 3 laps behind the #16. Kelleners is the current driver and turning the fastest laps of any cars right now, about 1 second a lap faster than the #16.

#55 Ferrari 348 is in 43rd place.
#30 Ferrari 355 is in 45th place.

12:00am Eastern Time - 13 hours left to race...

#12 Ferrari 333 in 2nd place, about 3-4 laps down on #16 which had a long pit stop because of power steering fluid leaking onto the pedals. They didn't loose too many laps because the race was under yellow at the time.

I haven't seen any recent updates on the other two Ferraris.

10:50pm Eastern Time - 14 hours left to race...

#12 Ferrari 333 seems to be running well again in 2nd place, 5 laps back from race leader #16. McNish is driving.

#55 Ferrari 348 is in 52nd place.

#30 Ferrari 355 is in 54th place.

10:00pm Eastern Time - 15 hours left to race...

Bad News, The #12 Ferrari 333 came in for a driver change and they changed the front brake pads/disc as well. It looks like the new disc was not on tight and when Alan was on the straight away the entire front right whell came off. He limped into the pits, they spent about 5 minutes fixing the damage and then he's back out again. He did spin right after he came back out, but it looks like he's ok. The Ferrari has lost several laps to the #16, but I'm not sure how many places they dropped.

9:30pm Eastern Time - 15.5 hours left to race...

#12 Ferrari 333 in 2nd place, Alan McNish about ready to take over.

#55 Ferrari 348 in 56th place, I guess it got back out to race.

#30 Ferrari 355 in 59th place and I saw a shot of it racing. The one lap time I did see for it was very good.

Both the #55 and #30 should start picking up places as cars have been dropping out.

8:30pm Eastern Time - 16.5 hours left to race...

#12 Ferrari 333 in 2nd place with Ralf Kelleners driving. Quite a bit of time down on the #16. The #12 had to come in after the main lights went out. In the previous driver change from van de Poele they had removed the front bonnet to clean out the radiators and I don't think they tightened the bonnet back up enough and the lights lost connection.

#55 Ferrari 348 was shown pulled over with driver stepping out and tow truck coming over. I'm not sure if that car can get back in the race or not.

7:30pm Eastern Time - 17.5 hours left to race...

The #12 Ferrari is still in 2nd place with Eric van de Poele driving. It has stopped raining and most cars have switched back to slicks. A nervous moment when the #12 spun right after getting it's cold slicks. However, about 50% of the cars getting slicks have done the same thing in the hairpin curve. Dale Jr. spun 2 times on his first lap.

The #55 Ferrari 348 is in 55th place overall and I think is still in the race because it's moving up positions.

The #30 Ferrari 355 is in 64th place and doesn't appear to be racing at this time.

#12 Ferrari 333 is in 2nd place with Eric van de Poele driving.

The #30 Ferrari is in 59th place and the #55 Ferrari is in 61st place overall.

It's still raining and is now dark.

5:00pm Eastern Time - 20 hours left to race...

The #12 Ferrari 333 is in 2nd place behind the #16 R&S Ford. David Brabham is the current driver for the Ferrari. I guess the owner of 333 bought it new as a car collector and is only racing it this one time with the best road racers hired out. Each of the driver's signature is on the car and it's painted in Ferrari typical Rossa Corsa. I think I noticed it saying "Ferrari of Dallas" on there as well and they mentioned the car was sorted out 2 weeks ago in Houston.

I haven't seen anything on the other two Ferraris except brief glimpses when they are lapped by the leaders. I don't know what place they are in, but not in the top 5 for their GT class.

Allan McNish, maybe the best road racer in the world, is now in the #12 Ferrari 333 and just went into the lead.

It's starting to rain.

1:50pm Eastern Time - 23.15 hours left to race...

The #12 Ferrari 333 came in for a pit stop after a flying piece of tire rubber hit the driver in the helmet and then bounced off the roll cage. The driver and car are fine but back in the field now.

I haven't seen anything on the other 2 Ferraris yet.
