Unfortunately the weather forecast improved, but with the current grid (Rubens, Trulli, Kimi, Ralf, Michael) we're bound for some interesting racing nevertheless.

Jack thanks for that story. Makes sense.

I find it fascinating how the powers of balance shift: Ferrari is back on the way up, the Williams stood still and the Mc Larens (at least Kimi) are moving forward again. What a season!

OK, so Rubens managed pole...

The story is that Ferrari specifically aimed for putting Rubens on pole with very little fuel on board after his little outing on Friday.

Being the second starter in the real qualifying session, his ultra fast time was intended to lure others into mistakes.

MS was set for 3rd spot (to be on the clean side of the track) and heavier fuel load.

Mark,

That's absolutely awesome. If you've got some 'insiders' stories to share, by all means go ahead. I'm sure you got plenty of war stories.

Dan

for many years I have Marshalled at Silverstone and now organise some of the Marshalls for the GP and other events, as a result I often end up with spare tickets, I put a few through a charity auction and the others to friends, family, other trackday/ car enthusiasts etc etc

Should be exciting. It's really anybody's game at this point, which is how it should be!

First qualifying session:

1) Schumacher
2) Montoya
3) Ralf
...
19) Rubens

The Mc Larens ended up in the middle of the field, representing their current problems.

Rubens was very fast, but went off; hence the low time. But expect a good time for him tomorrow.

Looks like the Championship battle will be fought in the Schumacher home internally.

Forecast for Sunday is rain, good chance for the Bridgestones and the Regenmeister to fight back. Should make for an interesting race anyway.
