All, I hate to see all this arguing and bickering over what in essence is just a car and a car club. Being members of FCA, FOC, FDC or a small gathering of car owners is a wonderful experience that we all enjoy. We have all formed lasting friendships in the name of Ferrari. Friendship is everything. Friendship is more than talent. It is more than government. It is sacred and true. It is almost the equal of family. Never forget that. What I, as a person, have had a hard time dealing with is this notion that I am looked at as a troublemaker that could careless about the norm. I do not like that fact that my name is mentioned at National meeting. I do not like the fact that I am looked down upon before I am introduced. I do not like the branding that I, and my family of friends are getting. When I first met the FCA members, I agreed with them over breakfast that some issues that were being discussed were important and that I would do my best to accommodate them. I have since had a great relationship with them. At the Ortega drive, I again felt uneasy as many of you know and witnessed, I was actively looked for by people that I had never met. I met the remaining members a couple of weeks ago and again I was greeted warmly and I faced some tough questions but they needed to be addressed to get that elephant out of the room. I feel that this fragile relationship has been ruined based on the issue of the FOC directory. I do not wish to see this happen. I am looking forward to our continued combined success together. We all develop preconceived notions about people, it is human nature. What I do not like is that I am discussed in a negative light by many in the Ferrari Community. What could have started off as a simple comment by someone can and has ballooned into a huge issue. I love the Ferrari Community. I have met some wonderful people on FerrariChat, In the FOC and now in the FCA. I do not want wish to see a splinter in the Ferrari community in the name of FerrariChat.com That would only hurt us all in the long run. I have made my peace here. I wish to see this separation between us all end and end now. It is out of my hands and into yours. M. |
