Thats all very interesting. Appreciate the input.

James Patterson bought NORWOOD,
Bob Norwood is still involved. He is charging me $400 to tune my car on the dyno.

I am pretty sure - Bob himself is no longer involved in norwoods -, that said I am sure he always had others doing the detail work

I heard that a couple of times as well about some Norwood stuff, but then these may be overexagorated. Norwood claims 600HP and that is on the flywheel, which translates much less to the wheels and the customer was thinking 600 at the wheels. get my drift?

Jeff in Memphis has a 348Twin Turbo from Norwoods. He will gladly talk to you. Have to track him at the General Discussion board though.

My beef would not be the "too much red" but the different colors between the IC and the headers etc.
Have the heads come off and paint them the same color. There can neve been Too Much red! :-)

Byron,

Can you be more specific? I would like to talk to this disappointed NORWOOD customer.

Kal, I am not doubting Bob Norwood or his accomplishments per say... I believe you and frankly astonished about the MR2 stats. Paul's post just reminded me of some other work he had done on another Ferrari that didn't meet the expected numbers, that's all.

Byron...Bob Norwood is the shiznit when it comes to this type of stuff. He makes the craziest setups around. He built this 4 cylinder drag car and made the engine himself out of a solid chunk of billet aluminum which made like 4000hp on nitro. He also made an MR2 for boniville that wen 207mph out of a destroked 1.5L engine. The smashed the previous landspeed record for a 1.5L gas engine by 70mph LOL.

Thanks Byron,

Well whatever it pulls, it will better than stock that is for sure. It was rather beastly at 10psi with no I/C so it should be quite beastly at 15, and nasty at 18psi!

I'd be interested in seeing the dyno results too, paul. Norwoods had claimed 600rwhp on another car but I think they only got about 350.

Good luck with everything though - it looks like it's coming along nicely.

Thank you for the compliments guys.

Yes it is a turbo setup with ceramic ball bearing
Norwood tells me this I/C setup is good for about 600rwhp at 18 psi. We were going to try to put a bigger sized I/C good for 800hp but it covered the oil filler cap.

Rob, the radiator is mounted in the front of the car. I will post some pics when i get to Dallas this Wednesday. the blue hose is the return line from the radiator. There is a marine pump mounted in the engine compartment that will circulate the water through the I/C.

Thanks for the photo.

The intercooler looks like a well made piece.

Is the black housing to the left of the intercooler, connected to a blue hose, a bypass valve or a water pump?

Do you know where the intercooler radiator is mounted?

The air/water IC setup is the only way to go on a mid engine car. My old mr2 turbo needed air/water desperately as the ducting for the side mount air/air simply wasn't that effecient at grabbing air flow. Is this a turbo setup? IF so what size turbo(s). Kinda hard to see by the pictures. Bob norwood is the man. Any idea what kind of power your expecting? I think bob norwood also built John Carmack (Owner of ID software's) ferrari which made and obscene amount of power (like 1200rwhp or something insane like that).

I agree with you...too much red (and they don't match). I would think silver or black crinkle would look better. Just my $.02

Hey guys, Happy 4th to everyone. I wish i could be driving my favorite car this weekend, but it is still at Norwood. They tell me it goes on the dyno Wednesday. We shall c?

What do you guys think of the I/C being red. Looks like too much red to me? I think it should be silver to match the exhaust coating. or perhaps red in the middle and silver around the edges?

Any suggestions?
