Fiberglass... ? You could, if given a strong enough magnet, put one side adhered to the fiberglass and the other side on the front of the plate. But, would have to be some strong ones. Double sided tape is probably better, lol!

Would magnets work, or are the fronts of ferraris made of non-magnetic material?

Run the plate over a few times and grunge it up to make it more believable. Also, might help to actually have fake holes to mount them into, but thats on the chance they might let you go with that excuse ;)

Will:

You can get away with that for a long time, but guess what happens when you finally get caught: they take the car away, and you can't get it back without an emergency registration and sticker. Happens on a Friday, your out of luck until Monday, if you can get DMV to issue one. How many parts do you think those folks at the local towing company will take off your car over the weekend? Use the tape, if and when you get a ticket.

Blasted damn front plate ticks...I've had my share in West Hollywood, Brentwood, Beverly Hills ...a big source of revenue for the West Side. As I'll never install a front plate on my Vette, I just keep the front plate handy and place on the dash when parking or if pulled over I show it to them an say it fell off. So far so good ;)

Hey guys, I am in the LA area and I do not get tickets for not having my front plate, because I do not have me rear plate either. Several friends of mine do the same thing. It has worked for 6 years now. I am on Sunset every day, since I live in the area. Not one ticket. Just a thought.

Use the double tape, take it off when the cop is gone, after he's signed the fix-it ticket.

gents
i may be soooo far out of date here but on the really old jags in the UK (i remember them very well) they used to have a "stick on plate" that went on the hood "bonnet - to those Brits here"
i recognise that i wouldnt want a "sticker" on my expensive red paint but is there anything similar that is available...could we lobby for something like that ? After all u guys are probably all pretty much trying to stay on the rite side of what (from i can see) is a pretty stupid law...no offence intended but i would rather have the police spend a little more of their stretched budgets on protecting my kids than chasing u lot just because it feeds their ego to bring down some "ferrari driving poseur" as my best friend was once called when pulled over...god if i had recorded that one !

Jean-Louis, i took the front bracket off my car, if you want it to look right, next time borrow my bracket, get the ticket signed off and then just remove it, i can ups the bracket to you for a couple bucks, no big deal, better than paying the man

Art,

Gotcha.. I have the braket but was using a pride plate when I got mine last year. I just left my personalized plate in place. Double sided tape is definitely the way to go.

This $121 ticket was my speeding ticket on the July 12th weekend of fun :-)

Sunny:

On those no front plate tickets: Tape the plate on the car, get the ticket signed off, then take the plate off. Simple. No points, less than $10 for the ticket, only takes a few seconds.

Thats really all it takes? $3,500 or 10k signatures? Man I thought it might be harder than that :-)

In that case, I am officially running for next year!

JL,

Pay $3,500, get on the ballot for governor, win (I'll vote for you) then change ALL the stupid laws that affect us F-guys (speed limits, taxes, etc.) Problem solved!

Tape the front plate on the hood, get it signed off, remove the plate. A no brainer, saves you $50.00.

The reason they do that is in some cases. you might not own the car, or the car is now sold, or the part is on back order from the dealer and will not be here for 6 months, what happens is that everytime you get the same type of ticket at the same courthouse they can increase the price of penalty that you pay- at least that what was told to me by the last court clerk that I dealt with in Beverly hills. This last ticket is a W. los ANgeles ticket so I will keep you guys updated as to the situation.

You could pay the ticket without fixing it? I thought that "fix-it" tickets meant that you had to remedy the situation AND pay the fine. If that's the case, then if I ever get a ticket for no front plate, I'll just pay the fines. :-) Would that also work for tint?

Bummer!! I've never been stopped ... yet. There isn't even a bracket to put a plate on mine, I'd have to rig something. Really screw up the lines on many F-cars ... wouldn't it!

That sucks. I've had a couple of those too. I havent had a front license plate on any of my Porsches or Mercedes in the last 10 years. On my new M3, I just left that temporary piece of paper registration on the front windshield on (you know the one you have until you get your plates). That way when I am driving towards a cop - he thinks its a new car still. So far it has worked 1+ years. Fingers crossed still.
