Art ,
Fontana is a fun track . I need to take the 954RR out to the track. I hate to admit this to you but the bike is about 7 months old and only has 600 miles. I have to ride more often.

I should be dove hunting that day but with the thunderstorms hitting that area the birds may scatter. If that happens I'm coming home and will cruise over to the track. I should know more as we get closer to the weekend.

Naw, the build date is around October, delivery around January. They haven't called to tell me to complete the order form yet, so I guess they haven't started buiding the car yet. The later the better. If I could get delivery in Feb or March, I'd take a few weeks off, pick it up in Italy, drive it around. Bring it into California 91 days later, and save 14k on sales tax.

There is a track day for bikes at Fontana over Labor Day. I think I might ride on Monday. Will you be around? Larry, one of the owners of Fast Track, will have a 1000 Yamaha for me to ride.

Gene,

Here is their website.
www.grangemotorcircuit.com
Very cool place opened this year

Art ,

Willow will be the plans when it cools down. Sounds like you have a good rig. I found a very small warehouse to house all my racing crap. With my karts and my 4 year olds kart and his dirt bike plus the trailer my sportbikes my wife put her foot down . I will PM you when we get a date set up.

Side note, did you get your new car yet ?

GPeters:

I'm selling my 98 Track Magic with a Honda to a friend and getting one of the Gidley Track Magic units (Tommy Dyers class winning kart from last year) with an ICC package. Let me know if you're going to Sears or Willow any time soon. My Van is finally done, except for painting: ZR1 motor, upholestry, new stereo, etc. Totally rebuilt, including new air conditioning, etc.

I just bought a Birel CR31-SR chassis . We haven't decided on a motor package just yet. Were getting ready to go dove hunting and when I get back we plan on heading to Grange and do some laps. If we do not have it sorted I will drive my Biland 250 4 stroke.

Have you guys been to Grange ?

I haven't run Willow on a kart. Certainly have more than a few laps (and a trophy or two) from running there on a motorcycle. I'll have to get this done sometime this fall (too hot now).

Let me know the next time you are running there.

Art,

it was a blast!!!
we had the track for half a day, running 2 groups.
we had more than enough fun...
at the end, we were exhausted.

if we ever rode these on the streets of willow track, i could only imagine higher speeds through the straights and through the turns.

I've got a Honda powered shifter 125, they're a kick. I'm getting an ICC kart soon. Did you guys have enough fun? If you can try to get to run on the main course at Willow, these things go rall fast.

It was my first time on shifter karts...
and WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!

this is driving taken to another level.
you're constantly moving something in your body.
you do get a work-out.

when you press on the gas acceleration is instantaneous...release gas up to do upshifts...
when you are about to enter a turn... brake (feel the g's)...downshift... turn (feel the latteral g's) ... press gas accelerate...

all of this happening in less than 3 seconds...

driving the karts was more fun than driving
the F car in the track...it was like driving
the F car, but your movements and
hand to eye coordination have to be 5 times quicker. the g's experienced are 3 times greater.

if you love driving in extreme conditions...
karting will give you that rush!!!

to start working on my car for the 30K service instead

these are similar to the carts at Dromo
but much much more faster
and you have to shift the gears.

yes, vehicles are included.
all you have to bring is yourself.
