Sorry I missed it guys - I was sick all weekend (still recovering today), but it did bring a smile to my face when I looked outside and saw what a beautiful morning it was - perfect day for a drive...I'm sure you had a great time and look forward to the pics.

See you down the road...

It was a lot of fun, glad I got to meet many of you.

Ron, your car was beautiful, and I was lucky enough to behind you/Byron, and the Murcilago when we left (plus the 360 with the nice exhaust). What was great about being in a convertible was I was surrounded by a symphony of engines singing. The Murci, 512, and the 360 sounded amazing.

Sunny:

Doug Prestine and I were in his blue 360. We left about 9:30 - 10:00. Sorry I missed you. With Doug in LA, I'll probably come to a few more of these.

I spoke at length with the beautiful Dagma, the producer who was directing the crew. She said that the focus of the piece was to highlight one of Germany's citizens who had come to the US and made it, namely Oliver who drove the red Playersrun 360. She said it was for German TV so it may run sometime.

They were also waiting on the side of a hill off PCH and taped us all driving by.

They got a lot of shots of the cars in the morning along with footage of all of us at one time or another so it would be fun to get a tape of the piece when it runs.

Thanks to Byron and JL for organizing the event. The FX Performance garage was really nice.

It was also great to see Eldon, Sunny, Amanda, Steve (btw congratulations on your first post and a belated welcome to Ferrari Chat), Rakin (sp?), Brian, Ron (of the Porshe group), and to meet a bunch of great new people. I hope they will continue to join us for many more drives.

Well, I missed another good one! Argh.

What was the german crew filming for? Will it be aired sometime? Maybe one of the german Fchat members can tape it for us!

Waiting for the pictures :-)

Thank you everyone for making this a successful and safe event! The weather was absolutely perfect - it made for a great day to cruise through the Malibu canyons.

We had about 45 cars, ranging from the all makes and models.

Some of these included:
Ferrari 308(GTB/GT4), 328 GTS, 348(Spider), 355(Berlinetta/Spider), 360(Modena/Spider), Mondial Cab, 550, 512TR, Testarossa
Lamborghini Murcielago, Diablo VT
BMW M3, Z4, Mini
Porsche Boxster(S), Carrera, Turbo (Gemb. modded)
Corvette Z06
Mustang
Viper
Acura NSX

...just to name a few!

Along with the festivities, there were some professional video footage taken by a German TV crew, too!

Thanks again for all who showed today. And special thanks to our friends at FX Performance for the hospitality and accomodations. For those who missed this one, not to worry - we will have another event soon... Stay tuned!

(Pictures will be posted soon)

Hey Byron, thanks man :-)

On one of these future drives, I'm going to have to bring my DP and shoot some really great footage for us. He's a car guy just like us and has been through driving schools as well. I'd invite him for this, but he's in Europe for awhile. I'm still getting used to my car and feel like I can only drive it about 75% of its potential, so I want to concentrate on driving this time and having fun with the group. I bet you can't wait to get the freshly serviced Challenge back on the road - I'll do my best to keep up :-)

Cheers,
~C

Dear Piloti,

It was a great event the last track day at Willow, the new friends of the Ferrari driving club showed the real passion for the four wheels. We have planned a day at the streets of Willow for Friday October 10th. The streets are a good training to learn the correct lines and to understand the weight transfer of the car, I am trying to have a timing and scoring service to have a beacon on every car so we can check our lap times after every time we are driving on the track. Doug Baron and me will be available for a little coaching and to drive you around on the Fx performance 360 challenge.
The daily fee with Breakfast and our special Italian lunch will be of $ 400.00.

A confirmation is required before this Saturday October 4th

Have a great day.

Paul I do not think that at this time they are a factory approved body shop, but I know that they do work on a lot of 360 challenge cars, and I believe they are in the process of becomming factory autorized. They have a lot to offer other then body, they do tires and have a state of the art alignment system, in addition they have excellent mechanics. You should see the shop it is quite impressive.

Edit: Damn it!! Nevermind I cant make it...its the day of a big orchestra workshop. If I miss it they would be pissed since I am principal bassist.

Im in too many damn orchestras...principal of two orchestras outside of school, the only bass player in an early music quintet, have my own string trio, and I do a lot of solos. Since I missed school, and two orchestra rehearsals on the same night for the track event last thursday, I really cant miss this :-(
