I like to drive the stretch of Rte 121(? - I think) that goes about 20 miles from I-55 through Plainfield to Yorkville. Nothing fancy, just a nice semi-windy country-type road that's close to where I live. You can drive way over the limit (as appropriate) and you can see cows and farms... |

I have to agree with you, Ghost. The county roads around Elkhart Lake are some of the greatest in the area. You can see forever and they are in great shape. I just wish Indiana would spend the money on roads that Wisconsin does. |

QUOTE: ...LUV the highways North of Milwaukee. Empty as can bee and cop visibility for miles. Will definitely have to keep that in mind. Now if only the snow would clear up... Regards. |

LSD with the top on in the middle of winter... ;-) Actually all of Lake Shore Drive: From the Science & Industry Museum all the way north until it turns into the scenic road to Evanston. Personally I consider LSD one of my top 3 drives in the world around an urban coast line. The other two being Rio (from Ipanima beach to the small airport for domestic flights) and Nice (from the airport to the old harbor). Some side streets around Lake Geneva are nice. Another Chicago favourite would be the Sky bridge in the South. Aside from that I think WI has more interesting high ways and roads. LUV the highways North of Milwaukee. Empty as can bee and cop visibility for miles. :-) |

There are so many back country roads around me it's hard to pick a few favorites. Really any open road or ANY dry road in the 308 is great fun. |
