Dave was surprised. When the second one soaked everything at Road America, I gave up on them. I'll stay with UFI.

By the way, Baldwin suggested to take it in to one of their distributors to look at it. No apology. No "send it back to us at our cost, we'd like to look at it". Rather, "not an authorised application" (true but disappointing).

Took off work early and worked a while on the 308, when changing the oil I checked out the new B253 I was about to install, the way the gasket and seat extend below the filter housing it IS more prone to damage from dropping than a Fram is.Before installing check for unusual things.

Yeah that's odd Philip. The Baldwin filters are the filters of choice around the chat. They were probably damaged at some point. What did Sodacom say?

Never had any troubles with the B253s, after the recall on UFIs I would not touch them or allow one to be put on my car. Could be the ones you got were damaged in shipping?

All
I have a new Baldwin purchased from Sodacom for my 308. I bought 3, all wrapped in plastic. First 2 dumped oil all over the place. 3rd is sitting on the shelf. Jay, you want it, it's yours. Send me an email. I live in Winnetka.

BTW, I am running "01" UFIs. No problems.

Jay, congrats on that turn signal! Glad you find a better deal. What's next, the front grille?

Hope to see you on Saturday again.

Bob,

You know what sucks, I have to work that day. Until 6:00 pm. Maybe I can do a switch or work something out. I wouldn't mind having a couple of cocktails so I'm up for that. I don't want to miss it becuase I want to see what Mike and others have for sale. I hope I can work something out, otherwise I'll be the guy on the ATV with the sad, 'wish I was there' face giving tickets on Central. Well, it keeps Ferrari in business.

Talking about parts and off of the subject, I am very happy today, almost like the first time I drove the F-Car. I finally ordered those parts I needed. Remember, the turn signal and the water bottle and sensor. I got them today so I will install them tomorrow. I got a very good price on the turn signal from Dennis McCann, www.allferrariparts.com They were really helpful, but didn't have the part in stock. To make a long story short they where able to get me the part for 1/2 the price Lake Forest wanted for it. Not to knock LFS any, they were able to give me a reasonable price for the other two items. And yes, they were just as helpful, maybe even more so. Thanks James.

All filters are accounted for, thanks to Andreas, Mike and Jay. Did not make sense to me to have 8/10 years worth of filters on hand

Hey Bob,
I've been trying to get some also. I'm good for 3! Maybe if we'll get time to go out this weekend, or when ever. Let me know.

Bob, this means that you're planning to change your oil five times this year (12-7). Either you've got a lot of long drives ahead or you need to get a life.

All the best guys.
