Bret, if thats what happened- throttle sticks then put the clutch in. If the throttle stuck he should have spun it.

Hey Kevin, I remember an ebay auction where a guy was auctioning off a ride in his F50. I think the guy was in Washington...Was that you?

Love your garage...My 3 favorite cars :-)

The only other video i have w/it is from a dyno run which was used to record the audio for an uncoming game from a "large game maker" in the area. ;) When the weather clears up again a bit I will see what I can put together.

I seem to remember there being something screwed up with the f50 that crashed. I remember seeing it years ago when it happened and something like the throttle got stick. If you look at the video he seems to be on the brakes yet the car just continues at that relatively slow pace, which would suggest power was still being applied, albeit lightly. Just my $.02.

Thought something was very odd with the ferrari.crash.mpg -- earlier footage shows pedestrian being thrown over the driver's side of the car prior to it going over the edge -- later footage shows pedestrian being thrown over passenger side of car, and falling with the car over the edge. ????????

Still can't believe how lousy of a driver that guy was -- I bet the passenger messed his/her pants as well.

Nick,

I did not notice but you are correct. The second angle is reverse angle. Still can't tell to much about how far the wheels are turned.

melo, the second view you're talking about is a reverse image of the first view.. so the wheels should be turning left. look at how much of the wheel well you can see up front... i'm lead to believe the wheels are turning left.

Looks like the guy is turning hard right, but in the second angle view, it looks like the wheels are not turned. Maybe something gave in the steering? Or am I not seeing it right?

Hey Manu- really looking forward to tomorrow- should be a laugh.

And on the tunnel front- I found a great one. Was in Sweden last weekend. The bridge linking Sweden and Denmark is an engineering miracle, but it's overshadowed by the tunnel leading up to it on the Danish side. All 3km of it and very little traffic. I was getting quite excited by the thought of what it would be like howling through it in an unsilenced F50 (back on topic!) :-)

So what do you think of this?

Another sad exapmle of what happens if you cant handle a car with lots of hp and do stupid things with it!

Kev you cheeky "barsteward" - we're delivering your Techart System to Jazz Motorsport later today. woohooo!!!
Yep - no ASR/ABS on F50 - will not prevent you buying one though I hope :-)

Edited to say that I really miss your 360 - God knows how you feel - Ajay and I were reminiscing about that very first Hatfield Tunnel Run - that day will go down in History.

Hey Manu- you're up early. In the US :-)

Simple case of an excess of power over grip; with front wheels locked up the only way this guy's going is straight on. No ABS or ASR on an F50 then?

That *appears* to be the crappest piece of driving I've seen in ages... no amount of wrenching on the steering wheel is going to change the direction of a car that has the fronts locked.... what worried me was the apparent terminal understeering - and it really does have to be some locked fronts....

Man, don't be scaring me like that!

But yeah that guy definitely sucks at driving. Could he possibly oversteer anymore? And why go on a track w/o a helmet if you're going to be driving for performance? I don't know...

I dont have any very exciting videos w/the car but here is a tiny snippet i had lying around. Again this is nothing very exciting and is rather boring, but it'll have to do for now. ;)

That's it? I thought the front bonnet to an F40 was something like 40k because it was carbon fiber?

That was at the launch of the F-50 in monaco and the was a test drive by a journalist. It cause $15k - 20K in damage on a car that had 300 miles.

That guy sucks at driving. If it is understeering like that the wheels must have been locked up. let off the brake next time or use the gas pedal to get it back in line!

Ryan, wasn't concentrating when typing the title, first thing that came to mind when writing it was Rumordude (seeing that he has one), thought I could make something funny out of it, but didn't think as I wrote it lol. I failed at making the title funny, but the video sure is.

I remember that. That was back in Monaco during the GP a couple of years ago. Ferrari was offering select owners a test drive. I wonder if the guy that was hit & the store owner sued?
