Heiko at HG parts can get the SD2 for way less thn the $30K asked before. He is close to 1/3rd. You guys should give him a call. I personally do not think this will be of much use in the future. Rumor has it they will do everything through internet connections and that will make the SD2 obsolete on newer cars. Perfectly necessary though for 360s and 355F1s.

Oh well, if its obdII its just a mater of translating the signal from the diagnostics to a GUI wont be long at $30k before someone takes a couple of days to do it, Porsche had the same idea to keep things exclusive, $50 on ebay now! |

"if its laptop based how about copying it and letting some of the IT guys on the board reverse it so we can all get one" You're kidding right? I would NEVER copy this software for any amount of money, no way no how. But it is does require the SD2 tester, the software is of no use without the tester & yes, you do need cables and a laptop, which i have too. Kurt. |

Just got back from testing out the SD2 tester at a Local Independent dealer. The dealership had a 1999 456 MGT/A with an air bag light illuminated. I took my equipment with me: Laptop - SD2 Tester - Cables - Software. I was able to retrieve the data, which happened to be a low voltage less than 9.6 Volts, due to the fact the power supply to the airbag was removed, thus setting the airbag light, i diagnosed the fault & then cleared al memory codes. If you guys have ever seen the SD2 tester in action & the info it can retrieve, you know what i mean, it is simply incredible, the data stored is awesome. If anyone in the local area has a Ferrari with a code stored and would like a free diagnosis, drop me a line, first come first serve. We can diagnose: F355 - 355 F1 - 456GT - 456GTA - 456 MGT - 456MGTA - 575M - 550M - 550B - ENZO - 360 M - 360 S - 360 C. I haven't yet decide if i will offer this as a service, probably not, but if there is someone in the local FL. are near Tampa - St. Pete that has a code & needs a free diagnosis, i'll be more than happy to give a demo, you buy the lunch! Then depending on feedback, i may end up giving away once a month, a free diagnosis for the FL. residents via a small promotion, due to logistics, it's not worth a CA. resident having his car diagnosed in FL is it! Kurt.
