If it were me I'd be looking at an active subwoofer by JBL or similar. With this solution you'd need a smaller cone (8"?) for the corresponding level of bass than with a standard sub. Stick it in the pockets behind the seats if you have 'em or anywhere - bass is non-directional. Then just get some 13cm components by Focal for example, a subtle amp and Alpine or Nakamichi head unit - an in-dash changer would be ideal as you'd need a minimum of hacking leather about.

What size speakers should I buy to replace those already in my 1985 Mondial Cab? How about a bass box solution? Any suggestions on amplifier or cd changer placement? Or is the trunk the only choice? Dare I wired this myself or should I hire someone who knows what they are doing? Any suggested online resources?
