The Motorola-type radios work well as long as you are within 1-2 miles of each other. |

The FRS radios work great...make sure the model you get uses both regular and subchannels. (I think most at this point do but there was a time...) Also, recommend you coordinate on channel 8, subchannel 12 - NWRFCA home. - JMG

We use the motorola's all the time and they work great...as long as you don't get too far from each other. |

What works best to talk to a freind when taking a car trip with some buddies? Do those cheap walky-talkys that they sell to families by Motorola work on the open road? Not looking to have a long chat...just something to coordinate our pit stops. |
