The car I was driving was a 99 ts F1. The dealer replaced the steering rack. The fact that you had a noise when turning your wheel would lead me to believe that it is associated with the steering rack. And no, it is not normal. How could the dealer have a straight face when telling you it is normal to hear a thumping sound when steering your car? |

Hi, Are you referring to this recall (see bellow) My chassis # is newer than the range of #'s in the recall..would you think it worth checking dispite that? Forgot to mention, my steering bushes needed replacing a few weeks ago (made a noise when turning the wheel)....maybe related. My dealer insists it's normal....but I'm not so sure. The steering rack on the 355 is prone to problems, which will cause a noise, and the factory has a recall on it. Check it out. |

Hi, My '95 F355 makes a noise from the front suspension when going over a bump in the road. Sounds like the suspension bushings need replacing, but my dealer says not and its normal...apparently they all do it. The noise sounds almost like metal against metal...but not quite, because its is more of a dull echoey noise....if that makes any sense, hard to describe! does it particularly on rough concrete road, but never on smooth tarmac. Much appreciate any advice....Thks Andy |
