Ernie:

Good for you.

My 40th HS reunion was last year. I brought the 355 and didn't say much, just let them look at the car. I had posted several pictures of my racing, and a few of the graudates were also lawyers and they knew of the work that I had done over the years.

In HS, I had been a total F*up, and it was a pleasure to let them know where I had gone and what I had done.

Let's see. I'm in Chicago, it's 10 degrees, my cold has evolved into the flu, my always-difficult clients have flared up to level 11 all week, my mother in law is coming for a visit, and I couldn't be happier. Why? She's parked in the garage, and taking me for a drive...Tim, it's called life. And you know what? You're not going to agree with everyone. In fact, there will be times you HAVE to agree with those you dislike. Bottom line is, it's your life, and if you let others dictate your feelings, happiness will always dwell in a parallel universe. Let it go, and enjoy being yourself.

An enormous ego usually correlates with low self-esteem.This lecturer sounds like a jerk.As Tony Soprano says "forget about it"

I went to Hebrew school growing up and the principal told me (often) that I was a dumb ox and would never amount to any good. I recently became the largest donor to the school. Unfortunately the principal already retired, so I couldn't make him eat s**t.

Time is a great equalizer. Ignore those people who spend too much time trumpeting their own achievements, and find the people who understand what life is all about.

My 13 year old daughter had to do a persuasive speech for school. Her subject was "Why you should buy a BMW Z3" She received a 97, so all teachers aren't anti-automobile.

Peter, my 10 year old son has to write a term paper and his subject is Enzo Ferrari. (I suggested Colin Chapman and he said "Who?" LOL)He already has a few books and he's going to focus on his life and building of the business. I expect he'll get an 'A' as he works hard and writes well, but if the teacher gave him a bad grade soley on the subject he picked they'd be hell to pay from me!

Ernie....

With that kind of attitude... it has to be said:
'You the man!'

Its sweet revenge indeed turning up for a HS reunion piloting a Ferrari.

Same thing Ernie. I had to write for english class a paper on a famous person. Want to guess who I picked for it? Wanna guess what grade I got?...

I'm seriously considering shipping the Ferrari back to Montreal when I attend my H.S. reunion, to show all of my teachers what I've amounted to since graduating...

LOL .............ah the joys of school. This is why I wouldn't ever want to go back to high school or college for that matter. Yeah the guy sounds like an idiot.

I had a home econimics teacher flunk me because I was to optomistic. I used to argue with her all the time. We had to write a paper about where we saw ourself in the future. When she read the part about me making very good money and driving a Ferrari, she said I needed to be realistic, and gave me an F. Let's see........thanks to GOD, I am now drivng a Ferrari and making very good money. How's that for reality?!

My point is this, there will always be blockheaded people trying to convince you that you will never amount to anything. Be it a hero, make good money, or driving a Ferrari. Just take it in one ear and out the other.

I don't go on this chat line often(why?) but I believe it is Ferrari Chat not Life Chat.com
You must be in some sort of group that attends functions that lets pompous a h's speak. You only have yourself to blame for letting this guy get under your skin. Spend more time waxing the car bro. I live in los angeles, you? Sticks

Tim, so tell me how you really feel...I'm getting mixed signals from you. Is this Dr. Gibbon someone you aren't really fond of?

Today we had some guest speaker for an assmebly. He was talking about heroes or something and how they werent popular during the 90s and they are now. Anyway, i didnt even understand this guy's point. I think his name was Dr. Gibbon or something. He really liked to toot his own horn too. We all HAD to know he went to harvard, then columbia for his phd. We HAD to know he had a book contract because he wrote articiels for like 15 worldwide newspapers, and that you dont just get a book contract. The prestigious Dr. Gibbon didnt even have any opinions of his own either, he kept quoting other people. Then he said that the word "hero" is used to widely and that the people who died in the WTC werent heroes. What a schmuck! Then he made some stupid comment about the football player quoting lincoln "in less that elloquent english" after the super bowl. this guy was such a d*ck. I hope im not the only person who is able to think someone is a d*ck after 30 mins. That guy was the biggest condescending, aggrogant, stuck up, pompous bastard i think ive ever had the privelege of listening to. The best part was when he said it was highly unlikely that any of us (about 500 kids)would become heroes. You know what i have to say about that, him!
