Hmm.
The thing is that a standard Enzo got 1600 lb downforce at 300 km/h. That means that it is possible to use the steering wheel without dying. Could be worth something for those who dares at Eau Rouge...

No guts no glory.

Ciao

Ernesto:

Murray's right, however, I just don't understand how Ferrari-if they are trying to topple the F1-could have let the Enzo fall short, not that I wouldn't take one in a heart beat. But, all the figures on the F1 are published, I'd like to see what comes along next.

These were Gordon Murrey's comments in CAR Magazine:

"In 12 years we thought we'd be eclipsed by something, but most people who have recently driven an F1 still regard it as the best driver's car.

The F50 fell way short and they've fallen short again - significantly short. There's not one area where it even comes close. The F1 is much more sophisticated altogether; it has more soundproofing, upholstery, and real luggage space.

Ferrari's beginning to get it right with the layout and the engine will probably be the best part, but the Enzo can't be better than the F1. Top speeds won't compare because of drag the Ferrari has too much frontal area. Accelleration depends on how you're geared, but essentially its only torque over weight and if you look at the figures the F1 has the same torque and is 200kg lighter.

Ferrari shouldn't have any problems selling the Enzo, of course. It's more a car for collectors, and it's going to go to collectors. The F1 is the only modern supercar that's going up in value, and the reason is that people still buy them to drive them. The Enzo obviously isn't going to top the F1, and to be honest I think Ferrari will stop trying, really. Then we will see who comes along next, I suppose. "

Personally, I think it's the most beautiful Ferrari ever built; too bad it's still short of the watermark supercar, the McLaren.

Autoweek does an awesome job of reviewing of specialty cars. They are without a doubt the best at showing off the car and shutting up unless necessary. I actually sent them a letter complementing them on their review of the F-50. Lots of car still shots, lots of action shots, lots of noise. Hopefully, this will be as good.

From the looks of the car, you wonder what kinf od trees they are and if the trees' flowers produce illegal substances.

I think the trees in the factory are a nice touch. Montezemolo really makes himself out to be a master of under-statement.

For $670K, each customer gets custom fitted seats. That's a hell of a deal. Downside, you've got to fly to Italy just to get your ass measured...

I love this car the more I read about it..
What we need to do is find out when this episode will air on the Speed Network.. Autoweek usually airs what they print...

Incredible... but at 3,000lbs, a little heavy and 400lbs heavier than the McLaren F1. This thing better kick the F1's ass is lap times, or it will be VERY embarassing....

The Enzo is 30 seconds shy of an F1 car???....WOW!!....can't even imagine the feel of a formula 1 car now....I rode in a F40 on the track and it was incredible experience...guess I was just riding on the kiddie ride....

Its Fiorano record lap is in the one-minute, 25-second range, fully five seconds quicker than an F50, though nearly 30 seconds shy of a genuine F2002 F1 race car.
