Where do you get this Bacon Grease at? I have tried all the Maguires stuff and I'm not totally satisfied. Maybe the Bacon Grease is the answer to my prayers.
How is it applied, and is it messy to use, I hope so.

call my detailer. He will gladly give you advise. Eddie is the best in the industry I have seen and knows his stuff. Works daily on high end exotics. Tell him I sent you to ask him.

Actually, looks more like a lumpy bar of soap. Works great though! Highly recommended for prewax finishing by most detailers.

I have never seen a clay bar. It sounds horrible. I imagine dragging a dirty brick down that glossy paint.

You can also try using a clay bar and some spray on wax. The clay bar will grab a ton of dirts and contaminents off of your paint which is what I think your looking to start out with. Moisten the clay bar with the spray wax then spray on the car in a small area and wipe with the clay bar a area at a time. You will see all the dirt come off right onto the clay bar and know its working.

Bruce, that's what I mean. It depends on the color of your car. Streaking will not show on the standard red, yellow, or silver cars. But get a black car in the mix, everything will show on it.

Depending on the color of your car, I'd avoid mixing quick detailing sprays. Black or dark blue cars will show streaks if you mix different systems. Griot's Speed Shine on Meguiar's waxes or sealants will cause streaking.

my approach to a clean f-car

1- use a little dawn to clean and get rid of excess wax(it is not a abrassive, dont worry)
2- use 3m imperial hand glaze, its unreal, and gets rid of swirls
3- use zymol italia for wax, ( i used to use griots show car wax, but found zymol to be better
4- for quick show spray i use either griots speed shine or mcguires speed shine, same difference

good luck,
bruce

i'm looking at Zymol HD clense and Imperial Hand glaze...keep getting contradicting theories behind which is better and which is more abrasive.
