Ric - I thought the slits were mainly to keep birds out or other small animals/objects of a particular size out of the scoops?

Roger - not a sponsor, but could be. Only thing I can offer F-owners are products from Porterfield, Bieffe, HRE and Kinesis. The latter two - custom wheel makers, that can make some wheels for your TR. It does take time though, so don't expect a custom job overnight.

Oh, regarding the original question: Speedline now (again) has sizes and fitments for early (spline drive) TRs.

Sorry if this rubs someone's fur wrong, but removing the slats on a TR sides is not a good idea. After reading the design notes on the TR (GB Progretti), two of the slats serve a useful and required purpose. They were not, as some may have speculated, just for appearance, or to meet some saftey regulation, but actually reduce airflow turbulence at the entry point of the radiators.

The Progretti book shows numerous configurations that the engineers test in the wind tunnel, ranging from 0-5 functional slats, and the two slat version had the best dynamic pressure results on the front of the radiator.

IMHO, functionality before form (but italian form is, well, just sexy).

Wow, that yellow TR looks great! (when color corrected)

For a 1984 model I would get the 390mm TRX rims that originally came on the car. They look great and will keep your car original. IMHO aftermarket wheels are for cars that came with ugly rims or for track cars.

didn't we have a wheel sponser at one point? ? I know he took some abuse about his site set up but I though he was helpful? I don't see him listed under sponsers anymore???

here are some various TR pics I have with different wheel combos. I personally like the 17" instead of the 18" on the TR. The 512 looks good with the 18's, but the TR looks to pimped out for my liking.

I'm new to FerrariChat. What I've seen so far is great.
I would love some input regarding types and sizes of wheels/tires fitted by others. I love the car in the original condition but would also like to see it with more modern wheels (pics anyone). What would happen to the suspension (ride) and handling?
