I had done the same on my 308QV, bypass pipe with fittings for thermo and O2 sensor. But acutally my car make some problems. The O2 sensor dont reach the temperature for correct work because, there is free flow and the sensor cannot heat up. So the engine runs rough at lower revs. We had the car on the engine tester and we saw, that the mixture is too rich. But i am not really sure that the problems are from the modification, maybe there is an ignition problem. The car is louder but there is no significant increasing of power. The 348 has a much more up to date engine management system and i believe You can get some problems if You dont update Your ECU for this. Dirk |

I agree with Herb, I had a local muffler shop build one for my 328 for $55. I also had them weld on 2 fittings to accept the O2 sensor and thermal sensor originally on the converter. |

Any exhaust shop can make these test pipes in a few minutes for a reasonable fee. The flange connectors are available from NAPA and you just need to weld them on to a straight piece of pipe using the converter as a guide. I had some made in 30 minutes. |

Hi, I'm thinking of doing the same for my 308 QV. I have sourced a test pipe for it. I plan on doing my emissions on the car, then putting the test pipe on for track use only of course. Anyone know what kind of gains I will experience? |

Hey guys, was thinking about adding a cat-bypass (European Resonator) to my 348 for "track" purposes. I just spoke with a gentleman from Stebro and the prices seem to be reasonable: about $650 total, including shipping from Canada. I was wondering if anyone would like to discuss the pro's and con's to adding this hardware. Thanks a million - David |
