I'd go w/the Boxer, too. Although a little toasty inside on super-hot days, it offers good torque, flexibility and is fairly comfortable, in my experience. 348 might be a bit better every day. But as a weekend car it'd be tough to tell the difference useability-wise, I think. Boxer gives you the 12 and one of the best semi-recent Ferrari designs (along with the F40 Dino), IMO. I'd like to have one. |

How does sales tax work in GA. Used for used only on difference? Then pay a dealer $200 to run it as a trade and you save a few thou in taxes. |

The car was made in 1983. It is a three owner car that the seller is familar with from new. Its current owner is a doctor who per the seller, had the car repainted because he didn't like the quality of the original paint job. It was black originally and was repainted black with clearcoat rather than the factory single stage paint. . No wrecks or body work per the seller. He wants to trade me even for my 348 Spider at $60k with me paying for the $6k service out of pocket, so I would have $66k in the car. I know i could get more than $60k out of my car if I sold it myself though. I have countered with an even trade after he has had the 30k service done. My car has 17xxx miles and is in excellant shape. |

Maybe trade with him covering the cost of your expected $6K service. I see 348 spyders for sale at $73K+. That is asking price at dealers as well as individuals so not sure on actual selling price. So $60K for your car plus $6K service = $66K which is a fair price for a 348 spyder. Also, not sure if it matters on Boxers, but color of black is not as valuable normally. I personally like the black better, but you could use it as a negotiating tool. |

Sounds cheap; how long has the car been sitting; what's its history, who serviced it and when; was it hit or repainted? Think you could get more for your 348, even in this market, but you might have to deal with the tire-kickers to get there. As i recall, you have a silver 348, which is quite desirable. I would think your car could wholesale for not much less than that price, unless you have considerable miles (which is not a downside to me, personally, but would affect a dealer's ability to resell at top price). |

I have found a black on black car with 9000km for $60k. The car needs a major service which I understand will cost $6k or so. The car has new TRW tires and is in excellant condition per the seller. I will have a PPI done though to be sure. The seller has all DOT/EPA paperwork. He wants to trade me even for my 348 Spider, but I think I'd be better off selling my car rather than trading. What do you guys think? |
