Mr. Kwon,

This topic comes up often. I think it was best addressed by Mr. Sheehan in the November 2000 issue of Sports Car Market:

I was perusing the Barrett-Jackson (Scottsdale) entry list and came upon the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder Replica (Lot 763) and just started thinking of how much these should be worth.

Do people purchase these by looking at how much the car cost to build?

I understand some folks have replicas of their original cars made so that they may track them or drive them around while keeping the original as a showpiece. Are these the products of such projects?

For the vintage cars, can these cars be entered into registries and events? I know of certain older Bugattis and Bentleys that are essentially replicas but due to their faithfulness (is that even a word?) to the original, they are embraced by the clubs and vintage events.
