Albert,

Thanks, Thanks alot, now you have me wanting to take my car apart to clean my dusty lenses.

I wander what it would look like if you had them tinted when they were apart?

Red,
Yes-'99 360 bought in Germany through Amerispec.
Came with burnt headlight assemblies (long story) and no background illumination of dash both of which have been corrected.
Have put on 10k miles in 2 yrs and have not had a single mechanical problem except a recent exhaust leak-The part was sent by Amerispec at no charge and it cost me 4 hrs of labor.
The car is a dream!

Thanks for all the info to those that replied. I did a search on this and got more info. It does look like that you can disassemble the units but having to remove the wheels, front bumber to get to it does not see m to be worth the trouble. I'll have it just ignore the dusty film look.

To paraphrase Matt, don't Ferrari dealers believe in replacing defective parts on a new car under the warranty or is the customer supposed to take it on the chin all the time?

replacement cost of pair of headlight assemblies is $3200 if ordered from U.K.or a US supplier (got mine from Lyle Tanner). They are double that cost from FNA!

Yes, they are sealed units. Kinda...

There are ways moisture can get into the units. One is through the weep hole at the front of the unit. It was pointed out by another Chatter that the downspouts for the holes were pointed forward and is siphoning moisture (and particles) through the air intakes. Another way is that the moisture came through the back of the unit around the access panel in the wheel well. Replacement cost is about $3K each.

Aren't they replaced under warranty?

The removeable headlight covers on the older cars weren't such a bad idea.

I thought those things were sealed tight as a drum? Cost I heard on here was $2200 to replace. How did they get dirty in the first place? Did a guy in italy touch them with dirty hands prior to sealing or what?

Albert, I've been asking this question for the longest time. I've asked the dealer but they don't have any ideas (they asked FNA and the factory last year but no answers). It's a problem that only I would notice though. Others don't notice it unless I point it out.

If you have any good ideas, let me know. In the mean time, please do a search on this subject on this site too.

Having just purchased a 360, I noticed that the lenses of the front lights can get dirty on the inside. esp when you have the lights on. Does anyone know how to remove them for cleaning?

Thanks in advance
