Sounds like "Hype" to me to aleviate the bad press they recieve for the laughable way they deal with the owners of older models , parts & service.. Obviously they are counting the $$$$$$$$ they are leaving on the table and need to spin a better image for themselves in the eyes of older model owners. Ferrari of late hasn't been satisfied with getting $100K over sticker for a place in line, they have been trying to monopolize every aspect of things Ferrari, new and old. But the problem for them is the same as it's always been...extremely expensive, below standard quality work on the older cars that drives the customers away (after the huge hickey of course). But don't worry...plans are easy to make and spin...but they're not that easy to implement and back up. Porsche tried the same tactic...spin the new factory love affair with owners of older cars. It sounded great till the orders started coming in for the parts they never really intended on supplying...lol. |

Just read this in the new issue of Motorsport: "Ferrari has announced plans for a 'Classic Centre' to support the ongoing use of period Ferraris, including competition. The marque is also considering a registration scheme to prove the eligibility of period sports and racing cars." Anyone know any more about this? Just wondering if that will incorporate parts for older street models. |
