Hi Rick after I did my first test drive with my 355 Spider I decided immediately that it needs a tubi.I had it installed from my dealer before I picked up my car and I love it. Not only that it looks great but the sound...wow.Unfortenately we don't have too many tunnels in South Florida to enjoy the nearly "Formula One Sound". But even under bridges it sounds like I am participating in a race.Even it is louder than the standard exhaust for me it is not too loud even after longer trips. I was in Monaco this year for the Formula One race and one of my friends was there with his 360 Spider. He has a Fuchs exhaust system installed and he admitted that driving from Germany to Monaco was way too loud and that he will have the Fuchs replaced by the Tubi. But of course everybody likes different sounds and noise levels. |

Stewart, good choice on the TUBI. I have a 1979 308 and I just put one on mine. It is a truly awesome sound and the installation is a breeze(a few flying wrenches because of the 90+ degree heat but all came out OK). Prepare to replace all bolts with stainless though. Jerry |

I am also putting a Tubi on my 79 carbed 308GTB. I am replacing my cats with Nick's test pipes also. I wonder how it will sound. Loud is OK for me. So excited! I can't wait! The only other Tubi I have heard on a 308 is on a 83QV, and that is sweet. |

viken-i did take a ride in a 2000 360 with a new tubi as you advised-windows up windows down-all gears-went slow-went very fast-down shifting up shifting-by the way this was a car with a stick -linkage problems-needed adjustment-no resonance -great sound -what the hell-i am going for it-thanks for your advice-have a good day -van |

I have a Tubi on my 96 355 along with the performance chips. It does sound like a formula car and there is a very substantial HP improvement with the chip and the pipe. Adam Cox at Ace Performance in Petaluma did the engine, etc. |

Once in a while, I hear someone say that he heard of a reason or another not to install any aftermarket exhaust on the 360. The only time when someone gave a reason was that the cats would run a lot hotter with an exhaust other than stock. This does not make too much sense if the muffler is not restricting the exhaust. I have yet to hear of a failure due to a muffler change. I have had my Fuchs for quite some time now and see to ill effects resulting from it. As Van says, many dealers have been installing these aftermarket exhausts for a while and haven't stopped yet. One more thing. If you remember, I posted about my Fuchs exhaust a while ago. Just a reminder that the 360's exhaust manifolds have been redesigned twice since the 1999 model and the Tubi does not sound the same on 2000-on cars. Personally, I prefer the sound of the Fuchs on my 2000 but the Tubi is great on the earlier cars. See if you can listen to a 2000 with a Tubi and be sure to take a test ride to hear the resonance inside the cabin. |

Chris, I was thinking about doing it (removing Cats) but haven't done it yet. I have several winter projects and I think that will be one of them. |

I spoke with the people at Stebro a while back and they said it was normal to get the check engine light when removing the cats on a 355. They said it was more of an annoyance than anything else. ps I have a Tubi on my 348 and it sounds fantastic.....especially in a long tunnel!! |

rick-i had a tubi on my 95-355 the dealer removed the cats-it was loud but the sound was great-unfortunately the cats were reinstalled because i keep on getting engine warning regarding the oxygen sensor -the dealer could not figure it out -once the cats were on no more problem-still had a great sound -just ordered a tubi for my 360-the tubi is very well made and looks great-good luck-van |

I am not to familiar with Tubi exhaust. Can you guys give me a little information regarding this exhaust such as, The sound, The performance, The Look. I heard that they are extremely loud. What does it sound like? Thanks |
