Jeff, Maybe I'm missing something here but why would you want to pull a used clutch and install it in your car? I would say it is the most vulnerable part on the car to be abused.

Even though those TRs are already sold, better make sure that you know where they came from before you go buying parts that came off them.
I would certainly have a look at the hulks and make sure they had a VIN tag inside the windshield. (as required of all cars sold in the U.S. since 1968)

Hello Frank, I don't know the numbers of the cars. And the former owner didn't seem to want to talk about them very much. I am still thinking about the clutch for a 1990 he has. Will this clutch work in an '87 TR? If so, I may make an offer.

BUMMER GUYS !! The owner of the wrecked TR's called me a few minutes ago, they are sold. He was down in Tampa at some business meeting and ended up selling them to a fellow business man there. The only item he has left is a clutch assembly for a 1990 TR, it is a used unit of course. He said he had 3 wrecked TR's at one time, and put all the best parts together into one car, and sold it about 3 years ago for around $70,000. The 2 remaining wrecks have been sitting since that time. My timing really sucks! Oh well, anyone need a clutch assembly? (I am so low right now....)

Jeff,
Since he hasn't been able to sell them for all these years,he's not gonna sell them overnight.Keep your cool and do not show him your eagerness/excitement to buy'em otherwise his asking price might go up.
Later, Yasir

Thanks for all the well wishes Guys! I have left numerous voice mail messeges, and told some of his employees to say something. But so far no luck. He owns 3 businesses and is only about 40 years old. Constantly on the go. I'm not giving up, and will keep everyone posted.

Living in this small Michigan town, I find myself whining about Ferrari parts and services not being available within driving distance. I think in all the years I've lived here I've only seen 2 Ferraris, both just passing through town. And now that I have the TR, I am sure it's the only one in a least a fifty mile radius. Exotics here are a very rare sight. So I've been ebay'ing and scrounging for parts for my car. I have come to just accept it as the way things are. Well I was out buying shop supplies when I ran into an old carbuddy, and we got to talking about the old muscle car days that we were lucky to live through (in more ways than one!) I mentioned that I got a TR and am working on it, but parts are a bit expensive and sometimes hard to find. He says you have to drive by this farm way out south-west of town and look behind the big barn, cuz there are some strange shapes back there. So I go out in the middle of nowhere to this very nice farmhouse with several big barns. From the road I can see just the left rear corner of....could it be....I think it is.....a Testarossa!!!!! I pull off the road, and walk just a few feet off the road to get a better look. And what do I see but TWO WRECKED TESTAROSSA'S !! They are mid-late eighties cars, one wrecked in the front, and the other in the back. Must be the plan is to put the two together into one good car. But judging from the amount of crap on them, they have been sitting for a few years at least. I went to the house, and young fella answered the door. I asked about the cars, he seemed real low key about them like they were just in the way. They belong to his nephew, who hasn't touched them in years. I asked if they might be parted out or bought whole? I said he didn't know, but gave me his nephew's phone number. I have called frantically but no answer yet. I just can't believe it...right under my nose in this hick town...never even heard about them before! Isn't life just amazing sometimes? I'll keep you all posted on the status of these cars. I'm sitting here typing away...still shaking my head with amazement!
