Get a PO box in another state, and have that post office fwd everything to your current address. its expensive to insure a car in NY. If you do this in a state that doesnt require a front plate, its even better.

whart, just curious...do you have just ur f-cars insured with Chubb or do you have all your cars and the rest of your estate insured with them? I will call them for a quote but if i'm paying $1600 a year for full coverage on my F355 do you think they can do much better?

i found chubb to be very good; they can often get you in under a collector policy, with no mileage cap. When i got my first ferrari, i still lived in Brooklyn, and the quoted rates from virtually all the insurers were, in a word, "obscene." I didn't have my own garage (few houses in brownstone Brooklyn do), and even though i had two designated slots at a 24 hr guarded public garage, the rates were out of sight. At that time, the 348 cost less to insure thru Chubb than our Volvo or Mercedes sedan. I have continued to use them, and they have been immediately responsive to any problems (not with a ferrari, thanks to Allah, but somebody T-boned our BMW, and one of our trees fell on a neighbor's outbuilding, and in both instances, Chubb handled it quickly, completely, and with no strife). The agent i use in NY, Michael Rosenberg, does alot of hi-line cars, works with alot of ferrari customers in the tri-state area, and is an enthusiast himself.

$900/year with Allstate on Long Island. Single, married, children, county of residence, township of residence (yes there is a difference between Brookhaven and Huntington), driving record, etc. all make a difference. Position of the F car on the policy makes a difference also (multiple car discount is big so always make your F car last on the policy last and try to put the Isuzu first).

Thanks for the responses guys...
Steve, I have AllState and am paying $1500 full coverage for my F355 and i'm only 26. $4500 sounds way high. I'd love to get together in WHB. I see a few f-cars crawling around out there...are any of those guys on the board?

I have homes in both places. No difference in price. I use Hagerty, and they were very reasonable for the Dino ($900), but expensive for the 360($4500). I'm going to shop around when the policy expires.

We should get together this summer in WHB. I'm at 552 Dune Rd

i think i remember someone talking about having homes in both Westchester and the hamptons....i currently have all my cars registered/insured in Westchester and was wondering if it would be much cheaper to register/insure my cars at my house in Westhampton Beach.
Thnx
