Ernesto and Tim: Both the Viper and ZO6 get the times of that Boxer, I didn't mean to refer to actual trap speed. Just quater mile times. But remember that 130mph trap speed can be do to the fact that it's boosted @ 17 and a half psi and running on 93 octane. |

I reread that article tonight, just as good the second time. |

130mph trap speed in a Z06 is even more unlikely. Maybe the boxer had no traction because a 130mph trap speed indicates it should run much better than high 12's, especially with over 800hp at the wheels. That thing should be in the 10's/ |

A 130mph 1/4 mile speed on a stock Viper? Am I missing something? Ernesto |

Racer -- I agree -- very tasty, but one of the other things I really liked about it was that Norwood also put the coachwork in a much more appropriate position relative to the wheels/tires. Not that I don't like 512BB/BBi's, but most have the coachwork a bit too high IMO. |

It was a nice article, but I also thought the 1/4 mile times were *really* high. Perhaps some bad runs/not-so-good-driver/driver unfamiliar with car/etc. My .02. Chris. |

You guys and gals might like this one. It's has a Norwood Autocraft (Texas) Stage 2 Testarossa powerplant. Twin tubro, 48 valves, 863 read wheel horse power @ 17.5 psi on 93 octane. 245/45ZR17 in the front 335/35ZR17 in the back... oh my.. It does high 12's or low 11's with nearlt 130mph trap speeds. Sounds a bit 'slow' (comapired to Dodge Vipers that run those numbers stock, Speed Six TVR's, ZO6's etc. ; it matchs their performance but 'needs' twice the power) for a twin turbo, but remember it's from the mid 70's. :p Forza's last statment in the article was "Yee-haw!"
Nice one eh? |
