on top of the question of how would the owner know which car is his. What would the odds of his key working in another f-car? I know it can be done with older GM cars. |

Hi guys, I've done the top change routine 'bout 12+ times in various locations from warm dry shop to a barn outside Aspen in the gravel. The changeover takes about 25 minutes or maybe a bit less with practice, with assistance I can do it in about 15. The carbon tops are not heavy but a bit bulky for only one person. There are a few shims required, Torx and Allen head sockets. The tool kit supplies all these but it's faster with larger ratchet wrenches. IMO the car looks better with the hardtop, but is WAY more fun to drive with the targa set-up, no soft top installed. Open air is the way to go. Ps. The pics are impressive. |

Norm,i think you have to change trim pieces on the back deck or something like that, from what i understand it's not something you do in the spur of the moment,me? i would just carry a motorcycle wetsuit. |

Franki, We had two F-50's at an event here in Chicago in the fall, one red and the other silver. One guy says that he's never put the top on and the other guy says that he's never taken his off. It made me wonder at the time if this process is harder than it should be. By the way, an F-50 in silver looks wonderful. |

Just to quell a little confusion, the F50 has a removable hardtop as well as a low-speed ragtop(a la 550 barchetta). Man, this car is awesome! |

Bart; we better track that one down and force the owner to give us rides in it. Holland is small enough, should be around here somewhere. |

I don't know the origin of this picture. But I know it's in europe, and the cars are from Europe. There are 4 hard tops, and 7 drops. And I'm proud to say, that two of them is from Denmark. And the only other plate I can see is from Nederland. All the others could be from Germany, they have so many F50's |

The F50 is one of the most mean-looking cars i've ever seen, if not THE meanest... i didn't even know there were that many close enough to each other, to all show up in a group like that... & it looks like they're all convertibles except for one (second from the left)... Jonas, any idea as to the origin of this picture or where it was taken, who the cars belong to, etc...? |

Wow! My jaw's dropped. Interesting that there's both US plates and Euro plates, it looks like. Actually, not too sure--I see all Euro plates except for that one white one, 4th from the right--looks shorter, but I'm not sure if it's US...

I think that's what Ron meant... Nice to see some of the more modern car owners get together like the old school (250GTO/LM) guys do. --Dan |
